clicky here

It doesn't say what his grounds for asking for an appeal were. I would be interested to know.

Glad to hear that at least some of those that named the victim have been prosecuted.

Glad to see about the appeal. Shame about the paltry fine to those convicted re: the name.

Y y to the punishment for naming her - it should have been higher.

Can't find anything on his grounds for appeal, just that he wanted an appeal.

It can't just have been stamping his foot and saying "not fair, I'm famous" can it?

From reading stuff on Twitter it was to do with the victim allegedly telling a third party that she'd suffered from alcohol induced amnesia previously and the leap being made that she'd probably forgotten that she'd consented to have sex with Ched Evans. Took the 3 - male - judges about ten minutes to decide that it was a crock of shite.

I just despair though at the people who think that because he played for their team and is 'good looking' that he didn't need to rape anyone. Wasn't that Ted Bundy's defence?

And I despair more about his poor girlfriend. Even if she believes he didn't rape the victiim then he was cheating on her in the most horrible way. And her parents are backing him. FGS - please want better for your daughter than a two bit footballer who conspires with his mate to shag someone in an hotel just because someone tells him she's "up for it." But then again, he'll never be the high earner he was. I suspect she'll drop him before too long, as her family are loaded anyway and he is no longer the equal catch he was. He's not the golden boy anymore and has another 2 years to do in prison now.
