Why are you just posting threads that is nothing but a link?

Because I ain't clicking!

It's lazy MNing

ExitStencilist Tue 28-Aug-12 21:12:52

very lazy.
And all it says is she will be assessed, not that she will lose anything.

Ilovedaintynuts Tue 28-Aug-12 21:22:04

To be fair if people are winning gold medals and sporting world records in activities that require incredible physical fitness and ability they probably should be assessed.
Why is that wrong?

BlackberryIce Tue 28-Aug-12 21:29:49

It's the same as everyone else!! Every single benefit is having changes made to it. What difference should it make to someone who has 7 Olympic medals..... Special treatment for the Olympic athletes? Really?

threesocksmorgan Tue 28-Aug-12 21:32:45

i am sure this link is interesting but the op is spamming imo

NicholasTeakozy Tue 28-Aug-12 21:49:09

They're only killing 32 disabled people each week, that's nowhere near enough for the evil cunt Duncan Smith. Expect worse.

Dawndonna Tue 28-Aug-12 21:53:13

*To be fair if people are winning gold medals and sporting world records in activities that require incredible physical fitness and ability they probably should be assessed.
Why is that wrong?*
Because without their benefits the likelihood is that they will be unable to train.

My internets been playing up tonight. i didnt want to write a really long post only to have it go pffft.
That didnt really occur to any of you though.

BlackberryIce Tue 28-Aug-12 21:54:07

Why should it? confused

carernotasaint Tue 28-Aug-12 21:54:11

ExitStencilist Tue 28-Aug-12 21:55:39

if your internet is playing up, don't spam the boards.

saintlyjimjams Tue 28-Aug-12 21:56:36

What a stupid thing to say. Do you have any understanding of the assessment ATOS is carrying out?

Guardian article from yesterday

threesocksmorgan Tue 28-Aug-12 21:57:19

tbh it surprises me that anyone is surprised by this,
you wait and see what happens after the Paralympics there will be a lot more stories like this.

carernotasaint Tue 28-Aug-12 21:58:09

Bet you wouldnt be calling it spam if it was a link to news about Child Benefit.

ExitStencilist Tue 28-Aug-12 21:58:36

I would. Links with no comments is spamming.

scaevola Tue 28-Aug-12 21:58:59

Does anyone know if "blacktrianglecampaign.com" is a reputable site? Or is this a breach of MN's campaigning/petitioning guidelines?

Kayano Tue 28-Aug-12 21:59:33

They shouldn't put the forces on Atos, they should put the focus soley on the government

Dawndonna Tue 28-Aug-12 22:01:59

Blacktriangle is a legitimate site.
Carer has been around for yonks, she's not spamming.

JumpingThroughMoreHoops Tue 28-Aug-12 22:02:35

I thought everyone was being assessed over a period of time?

McHappyPants2012 Tue 28-Aug-12 22:02:50

Ok she can swim, but what job can she do with that.

Kayano Tue 28-Aug-12 22:05:01

Such a negative outlook mchappy

BlackberryIce Tue 28-Aug-12 22:06:20

Doesn't have to be a swimming job just cos she has medals in it!!

Defeatist attitude there..

flatpackhamster Tue 28-Aug-12 22:06:29

Dawndonna

Blacktriangle is a legitimate site.

It's a campaigning site. Does that make it legitimate?

Carer has been around for yonks, she's not spamming.

Except that she never posts about anything except how Evil The Government Is For Taking Free Stuff From People. There's a hint of spam about that.

McHappyPants2012

Ok she can swim, but what job can she do with that.

Lifeguard.

Seriously, it's not about 'you can do this so have this job'. It's about looking at everyone and finding out what they can do rather than just writing them off as 'disabled' and sticking them on benefits.

nancy75 Tue 28-Aug-12 22:07:02

I don't understand, she hasn't actually lost any benefits, is that correct? She has been sent an assessment letter like hundreds of thousands of other people, so there is every chance she won't lose any benefits?
