Jubilee Concert - anyone watching this rubbish?

Self-indulgent has-beens? Gurning, strutting Robbie 'I love myself' Williams. No-one who can actually sing so far (apart from Alfie Boe). The presenters have been better than the 'artists'.

Is this the best we can do? No wonder Brian May is smiling.

Absolutely dreadful.

And Cliff?? Embarrasing.

. I'm quite enjoying it!
Plus, both children have been asleep of their own accord since 7.30 and it's been a fab sunny day so I'm full of the happy stuff!

Absolutely brilliant, have it recorded to watch later as we went out for the lighting of the village Beacon. Proud to be part of this country.

Praying for Prince Philip

What did I miss? I was out watching a beacon lighting. Smile

Hope there is a rerun.

I watched and thought it was great especially the light show during madness. Not sure what could have been done to make it better.

I don't personally like RW or CR but lots of other people do.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to sound snippy.

It's a sham you missed the threads on Chat. They were hilarious and one MN'er went into labour!

Threads in chat will be lost forever in just a few days. Not much point in puffing them off, really. This is however a permanent thread, and is the only one that is likely to be found in future (except it'll be harder to find in "In the News", where it will sink in many subjects, rather than in "The Royal Family" where one would automatically look in future for royal threads).

On th concert: one person's "has been" is another's 'surviving acts from every decade of her reign'. Given that was th stated aim, I don't see how it could have been bettered.

I thought it was great! The atmosphere looked fantastic and as the evening progressed and night time fell with all the lights etc it looked spectacular.

As for the artists they were very mixed vocally. Will.i.am absolutely cannot sing but Jessie J has an amazing voice. Cliff has had his day whereas Tom Jones was brilliant and what a shame he didn't sing more. Ed Sheeran sadly only sung one song whilst Kylie went on and on! Good mix of artists. Some of the comedians were a bit weak and cringeworthy. Why are they used as presenters?

Had to laugh at Cheryl positioning herself just next to the Queen on stage. She (in my humble opinion) was the worst singer of all. Isn't her Majesty looking after one of her brothers? Gary is getting himself ready for that Knighthood.

I loved the fireworks and I'm sure the French loved the fact that the French flag was projected onto Buckingham Palace. Confused

I was in the Mall in '77 for the Silver Jubilee, I so wish I was in the UK for all of the celebrations with my children. Going to a Jubilee lunch with other Brits a luchtime. Hope Prince Phillip gets well soon.

I loved it, the best bit was when Will.I.am shouted 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUR HIGHNESS!!'Grin hahahahahaha....

I loved it and i don't normally 'do' any royal stuff.

The special effects were great and well thought out, especially Madness on the roof of Buckingham Palace.

The fireworks couldn't have been any better.
