It seems sanity has prevailed. Let's hope there are no more delays and the site is cleared ASAP

whomovedmychocolate Wed 12-Oct-11 19:17:29

I agree, but there is still another appeal process before they can start evicting them I believe.

glasnost Fri 14-Oct-11 13:52:18

Terrible, isn't it? Why don't we just bring the gas chambers back, hmm?

Hate threads come in such bland guises at times.

And niceguy IS the most inappropriate username ever.

CogitoErgoSometimes Fri 14-Oct-11 13:54:53

You actually support gas chambers for gypsies glasnost? That's appalling...

glasnost Fri 14-Oct-11 14:18:31

Ha bloody ha. Go and check your thread on the NHS. And anwer the points.

2old2beamum Sun 16-Oct-11 15:30:15

glasnost----are we the only ones care? Once again I ask where the bloody hell are they supposed to go?

2old2beamum Sun 16-Oct-11 15:31:54

Sorry missed out WHO. Silly old fart.

edam Sun 16-Oct-11 17:43:00

About ruddy time too.

Of course councils should provide sufficient legal sites. But that doesn't make the half of Dale Farm that is illegal OK. The law has to treat everyone equally (and once we've sorted Dale Farm out, let's move on to other people who are treated unduly favourably by the courts, such as the super-rich libel tourists).

niceguy2 Sun 16-Oct-11 20:42:54

Why? All I've ever done is say that the law should be upheld and those who have used every trick in the book to subvert our laws when it suits them should no longer be allowed to get away with it.

Don't see why that automatically makes me full of hate?

glasnost Sun 16-Oct-11 21:04:05

Are you talking about the BANKERS, niceguy?

crazynannawitchbitch Sun 16-Oct-11 21:06:46

grin glasnost

southeastastra Sun 16-Oct-11 21:07:18

the councils should provide sites but how many have? i remember ours being discussed and the last time i looked most of the proposed sites have concrete barriers protecting the land.

they should have been alble to stay there.

where will they go now?

glasnost Sun 16-Oct-11 21:07:48

2old2beamum humanity is in ever decreasing supply, unfortunately. In hard times scapegoats are needed by the corrupt powers that be to deflect attention from the crimes they commit and it's always been gypsies' role. Where are they supposed to go indeed? I reckon the way's been paved by the media to bring the gas chambers back without too many ppl raising eyebrows.

2old2beamum Sun 16-Oct-11 22:21:38

To paraphrase a more famous statement
They came for the gypsies and I said nothing.
Then they came for the immigrants and I said nothing.
Then they came for the poor and the disabled and I said nothing.
Eventually they came for me and there was nobody left to say anything.

snice Sun 16-Oct-11 22:24:53

Bingo! Godwin's Law strikes again

needanewname Sun 16-Oct-11 22:31:18

Ok so for the people against the eviction, what do you propose?

2old2beamum Sun 16-Oct-11 22:35:42

Bloody hell snice and I thought I was being a smart arse!

snice Sun 16-Oct-11 22:37:43

I don't think you're a smartarse at all-just overly melodramatic perhaps

glasnost Mon 17-Oct-11 08:27:37

Overly melodramatic are the hysterical haters foaming at the mouth over gypsies daring to exist still and not to have been genocided out of existence.

And citing Godwin's Law is a desperate attempt to ridicule a perfectly valid fact (Nazi's eliminating at least 500,000 gypsies). That's true. A fact. Or are you a revisionist, snice?

CogitoErgoSometimes Mon 17-Oct-11 09:13:55

The only person who keeps mentioning genocide, Glasnost, is you. In the context of eviction, that is somewhere to the far right of melodramatic. The gypsies are being moved on legally, not herded to their deaths.

raspberryroop Mon 17-Oct-11 09:52:32

Our council has provided sites - with a shower block and laundry facilities and all the copper pipes and fitting have been ripped out and stolen - on more than one occasion.

glasnost Mon 17-Oct-11 10:00:39

"Herded to their deaths". That's a very revealing turn of phrase Cogito.

glasnost Mon 17-Oct-11 10:01:22

BTW Hitler LEGALLY carried out the final solution. Come along now. Keep up.

tooearlymustdache Mon 17-Oct-11 10:05:23

run!! hide!! the travellers are on the loose!!

really.

here's a grip [[]] get a hold of it and live and let live ffs.

please?

they have lost their legal battle, and are now homeless. how can they be expected to try to live decent lives when such hysteria is rife?
