Telegraph article

'In July, it was reported that he asked Gordon Brown to put pressure on Tom Watson, the Labour MP who helped expose the scandal, to drop his investigation.
Mr Blair's spokesman categorically denied the allegation.'

'Mr Blair attended the Jordanian ceremony "garbed in white" and (is) one of Mrs Murdoch's "closest friends".'

'She was befriended by an American woman, Joyce Cherry, who taught her English and offered to sponsor her to study at California State University.
Having taken up the offer and moved in with the family, she embarked upon an affair with Mrs Cherry's husband, Jake. He divorced his wife and married Wendi. The marriage lasted four months, during which time she gained a Green Card'

'Describing their first encounter in 1998, she said: "Rupert was in a meeting and he was asking what was going on in China. They brought me into the meeting and that was how we met."
They married in 1999 on Murdoch's yacht. The wedding took place 17 days after Murdoch's divorce from Anna, his wife of 31 years and mother to Lachlan, James and Elisabeth.'

'"it is important to have a moral compass, wherever you find it. Wendi also has found it through Church and Sunday school."'

given how optimistic i was in '97 it pains me to say it, but opportunistic and ruthless birds of a feather certainly flocked together....
and they don't know the bloody meaning of moral compass - wendi is exactly the type of person to "find god" so long as it suits her hmm

Tony Blair is also the sort of person to "find God" so long as it suits him.

It is a snide little article, but she does not come off well at all, does she.

What on earth possessed her to give an interview?

teejwood Tue 06-Sep-11 11:22:56

crackfox i was totally lumping the two of them together on all counts grin

teejwood Tue 06-Sep-11 11:37:20

mmelindor she was promoting a film she had produced - it's all about the money wink
and as for that quote about RM not having PR people to advise him before he went up before the select committee - purleese <wipes tears of mirth from my eyes> - how stupid does she think people are????

MmeLindor. Tue 06-Sep-11 11:43:16

Yes, that amused me too. Poor old Rupe, without the dosh for PR people.

TheCrackFox Tue 06-Sep-11 11:52:35

Poor old Rupe, if only he had a huge media empire to advice him on how best to behave infront of a select committee.
