Boy, 5, dies in E.coli outbreak
E.coli outbreak timeline
A five-year-old boy has died while being treated for E.coli following last month's outbreak in south Wales.
The boy, from Bargoed, south Wales, was being treated at Bristol Children's Hospital.
The boy had been ill for more than a week before Caerphilly Council confirmed his death on Tuesday.
The outbreak, which was first detected on 18 September, has so far affected 161 people - mostly children - and 38 schools.
Health officials have said the outbreak is in decline, with most people falling ill before control measures were introduced.
Last week, Welsh assembly members agreed to set up a cross-party committee that will look into what form a planned inquiry into the outbreak will eventually take.
The six-strong committee will begin its work over the coming weeks.
