Chairman of BA gets a knighthood why, exactly?

It doesn't seem to have been commented on anywhere...someone explain it to me, please

What has he done to deserve it? (Other than being chairman of BA, obv. Is it just another perk?)

(Don't see why the bloke who sold Cadbury out to Kraft gets it either, tbh hmm)

It's pretty common to give captains of industry an honour and if you're bumped into the House of Lords that's usually a political appointment. Beyond a trip to the Palance for the day I've never really worked out what the tangible benefit of being a Sir actually is.
