Sorry I don't know if this is the best place to post, I couldn't find a more suitable category. I am starting a group to mobilise mums who are opposed to the potential destruction of our childrens future by fracking. Find me on facebook Mums against fracking.

I will be starting Teddy Bear picnic demonstrations soon, beginning with Salisbury where I live next Wednesday. Please pass this message on

thank you

Fracking is basically using hyraulic machinery and water to crack the earth and extract gas - I think Grin lol

www.independent.co.uk/environment/fracking-industry-launches-charm-offensive-as-it-looks-for-the-last-piece-of-the-puzzle--public-opinion-9206142.html it appears over the past few days MSM has become interested in Fracking with the hundreds of protestors at both balcome and Barton moss having been ignored for months.

dp is a interested in this... and now refuses to drink tap water and only bottled water from certain places. If he's right this is seriously messed up.

I think I prefer cracking to the alternatives. There is no ideal way to generate energy, so what method would you propose we use?

Any way that isn't going to poison our water supplies...

That's a cop out. Give us a suggestion of what would be a good way to generate enough, affordable energy to run a country. I'm not saying I agree with fracking, but I'm not saying I don't either - all forms of energy generation cause enviromnental problems.

solar and wind power. They don't leave somewhere to dump nuclear waste, or poison the earth and water supply. Look at America where they can set fire to the taps, methane coming out of them

Wind power kills birds, destroys landscapes and the windmills need to be replaced in 10-15 years. You need alternative power sources for when its not windy enough or too windy.

Solar Power cells require careful recycling unless you like cadmium and lead in your drinking water.
