Realises irony of posting in good house keeping

MrsBucketxx Fri 08-Feb-13 16:07:10

I woukd take it in the hoover, and drive to a park and let it go.

dont let it out in the garden it will be back in the house before you know it.

BabyRoger Fri 08-Feb-13 16:08:14

I would faint too.

Then I wold do what MrsBucket says.

BabyRoger Fri 08-Feb-13 16:09:06

would - not wold (traumatised at thought of mouse in hoover).

Svrider Fri 08-Feb-13 16:11:18

Ok so I've put the whole thing outside, awaiting dh return from work <apologies to anyone from feminist board>
I actually feel sick
Does this mean I can legitimately buy a new dyson (and mouse traps obv)

ArbitraryUsername Fri 08-Feb-13 16:14:01

Don't leave it outside. The mouse will get out and get straight back in your house. You need to drive it miles away and release it into the wild.

It's the animal liberation party you need to worry about...

When you next see it it'll be surrounded by cats grin

Will mouse suffocate? If so we need to remove mouse way before DH comes home or it's just mean

FairyJen Fri 08-Feb-13 16:21:23

It's going to get out like that so your best just releasing it so as not to be cruel really. Remember it will be far more scared of you than you are of it.

On a side note tho its very rare to have a single mouse in the house...

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Fri 08-Feb-13 16:22:44

Just release the poor thing and pretend you didn't see it;)

bamboozled Fri 08-Feb-13 16:24:09

[stands on chair and squeals while wearing frilly pinny]

VivaLeBeaver Fri 08-Feb-13 16:24:36

Take the pick out bit of the Dyson down the park. When you get there take the lid off, job done.

VivaLeBeaver Fri 08-Feb-13 16:25:08

Its times like this you really need a Jack Russell.

bamboozled Fri 08-Feb-13 16:25:56

No, it will get out of the top hole that let's the air in if she just takes the cylinder but...

ThatVikRinA22 Fri 08-Feb-13 16:27:19

go and empty your hoover in the park.....dont let it die. please sad

if you are near me i will grab it - im always rescuing live mice off my cat!

bamboozled Fri 08-Feb-13 16:28:17

Also, don't tell dadsnet that a dyson has the sucking power to gather a mouse - or they'll all end up in A&E with embarrassing injuries.....grin

NomNomDePlumPudding Fri 08-Feb-13 16:30:35

if you don't want to go as far as the park, just walk up the street with it and let it go. but don't release it in your garden, it'll be straight back in. i wouldn't leave it in the hoover all day, that seems cruel to me. not as cruel as borrowing a jack russell though (Viva shock grin)

ThatVikRinA22 Fri 08-Feb-13 16:33:27

i think it might die if you dont let it out - the clue is "vacuum" - probably wont have much air in the dust bag thingy.....

THERhubarb Fri 08-Feb-13 16:37:27

Just open the hoover and then run away.

It's just a mouse. I have to deal with plenty of dead ones in my loft.
It won't run at you or attack you. It just wants to get out. So just open the whatsit and it will make its own way out.

If you don't it will slowly die and imagine how bad you will feel then?

Arithmeticulous Fri 08-Feb-13 16:41:10

You have to decide what is going to be worse to deal with: a mouse in your dyson, or a dead mouse in your dyson.

The latter for me - let it out! Take the whole thing to the bottom of the garden, get a stick (always better with a stick) and take off the reachable bit. Open the end and shake (tuck your trousers into your socks first). Drop it and run screaming
Go back in 5 minutes.a

IslaValargeone Fri 08-Feb-13 16:45:55

arf@'apologies to anyone on the feminist board'

Agree with the others, let it out in the garden.
Did you suck it up, or did it find its way in somehow?

Svrider Fri 08-Feb-13 16:46:36

Ok, so mouse was still alive on dh's return
Neither of us could face killing it
We've let it out at the very bottom of the garden (by we I mean he obv.)
He's sterilising Hoover now
Mouse traps tomorrow tho

Also eeewwwwwwww

IslaValargeone Fri 08-Feb-13 16:46:53

Not the garden then, but don't let it suffocate.
