Siemens fridge-freezer

I've got a Siemens fridge freezer which seems to need defrosting, but I can't figure out how I'm supposed to do this! Do I just leave the door ajar for a couple of days with something to catch the water? Any other f-f I've had has had a helpful little button saying "DEFROST" on it, but not this one! It's a full-size thing, the fridge sits above the freezer, and recently water has been pooling under the salad drawer and veg, yogurts etc have been getting pretty frozen at the bottom or back of the fridge. I can't see any model name or number anywhere on it, though the freezer drawers have lengths of time in German: "2-4 Monate"; "6-9 Monate" etc.

Anyone have any idea? Sorry to be so dim! Thanks!

there will be a model number tucked away somewhere.

Why not go to the siemens site a look up your one, or from the site, get their customer service number.

Or just defrost. Put as much freezer stuff as poss. in the fridge, unplug, defrost - I put pans of boiling water inside, usually gets it dne pretty quick. do not use a knife/anything too hard to scrape ice, but ---i find a plastic spatula comes in hamdy...

Plug back in, return freezer stuff, job done.
