Help!!!Just burnt the arse off a pot and now the house STINKS!!!!

As the title says really!!!
Saucepan just boiled dry while I was sorting DS in bath, now the whole house stinks and there's a cloud of blue smoke...eugh!

I have opened the back door and windows etc (apart from rooms where DP and DCs are sleeping). But the smell is really bad!

Any tips for getting rid of smell?????

Also, while I'm at it, how am I going to get the stoopid pot clean now too?

Just for a laugh on an otherwise dull evening, I shall shame myself and tell you that the pot had boiling water and a dishwasher tablet in it to try and clean it after DP had already burnt it this morning (a trick which has served me well in the past, but not tonight!)

Remove pot from house.

Clean up the splatters of water from round hot.

Heat up lemon juice and water - do not allow to boil dry.

Haven't got any, washing powder in boiling water will improve the smell no end.

Windows open etc.

It will settle with moisture(hence the boiling water).

Numpty!

Incidentally oven cleaners are quite good for removing burnt on bits from pans but check it's not a copper pan.
