Hope you're all surviving 1/2 term.

Had lots of unexpected visitors yesterday (well people I'd forgotten I'd invited LOL) which was good as car failed MOT and spent all day in garage again.

Today: I am bracing myself for lots of expected visitors today. 3 boys. Wish me luck.

List:
laundry
paper work and banking
reading for work

Have a good day. Its very foggy here.

We are really quiet here today.

Well DD sent to Grandma's today so that I can get some errands done. I like the fact that GP's still want her at half-term as otherwise I'd go mad looking at the pile of jobs that need doing and the assignments that need writing.

Anyway, took her over there then back here to take prescription to doctors and two parcels and letters to post office, then caught a tram into town to pick up tickets for room on a broom on Friday. Glad I did rather than picking them up on the day as they couldn't find them and then I got a phone call to say they had found then but in my maiden name - anyway I have these now but slightly concerned by threat of heavy snow for Friday. We will see. Anyway that has taken me soooooo long that I haven't had time to go to the gym today as planned so instead I'm going to treat myself to a nice bath before I pick DD up, then out tonight with sign language group to practise.

Have also run hoover round and done a little bit of assignment so not a bad day all things considered I suppose.

Dora buns have gone down a treat - she took then really proudly over to grandmas, having picked out one for each of them.

scatty sorry about the car, at least the visitors kept you company

OFM hope you enjoy your visitors today

Right off for a little soak with my book

Hello to all. Just a quickie as this is supposed to be my coffee time and I've already finished drinking it so I'd better get a move on. I've been reading an au pair thread and I'm so glad our ap days are over!

I'm feeling quite cheerful atm as I popped into the docs this morning whilst I was in town and was able to get an appointment for 5 mins later! The doc gave me some hydrocortisone cream for my hands and other stuff i.e. a soap substitute and skin cream and I'm hoping that my hands will improve with the hydrocortisone and won't be cracked, flaking, bleeding and horrible! The other week when it was very dry outside they were so cracked and sore I was quite miserable with them. I have got about 6 different hand creams which I put on under gloves in bed including some expensive ones but the effect wears out within a couple of hours of getting up in the morning.

Anyway....I must get on and do some ironing as the pile is about to take over the living room. I've been avoiding doing stuff like that with my hands as they were. I hope to come back and post more later. Have a good afternoon all.

evening all

simply I get a REALLY bad patch of skin all down edge of my right hand, flares up every 12 months irso, and lasts for months.Flaky, cracked, bleeding etc....amazing how sore itcan be actually...couldnt even sew the other day because of it...so I feel for you. Of course horrible cold dry weather makes it worse, and I'm bad at wearing gloves.Hope the creams help.

mc hope you had a nice bath. Sounds a productive day, well done

scatty glad you survived the visitors!

day been okhere really, DD1 and friend played very nicely, all quite amicable, even let littlies join in a bit!

First batch of hot cross buns a disaster....I forgot to put the yeast in DOH!
Now have second attempt in breadmaker!

Dreaming longingly of planting seeds, and digging in the garden....sadly now snowing again grrrrrr

Have been trying todo some writing/phonics work with dd3...a real struggle. So worried about here ducation...she is going to need somuch extra input and the whole thing sounds like a bit of a minefield....all very muddled and unclear as to how exactly to proceed...have been stalking special needs board avidly LOL

Fish pie in oven, dhgoing to dish up ...Iam having 5 mins peace...

Oh and dog still being very odd??????growled at DDs friend-not acceptable....not sure how to proceed on that one either....
why is life never straight forward????

Just sneaking onto parents' laptop having vowed I wouldn't even look at internet for a week.
I'm in Eire, parents have just left to go on holiday (v. bad timing , but brother still around (somewhere)not seen him for days...

We are having a lovely time, the dcs are running around in the frosty sunshine all day, lake, woods, grassy banks, or just playing complicated games together indoors (hide and seek, aeroplanes). They've really settled down together and stopped fighting - which is just what I hoped for.
On the downside my mum's telly has stopped playing DVDs and keeps spitting them out, nor will it rewind videos, so we've settled for half way through ET...
It is also v. v cold in this house, so we need to eat rather too many fry-ups to sustain us.

Now I'm switching computer off till next week, promise, no lurking will ask dh to check my emails for me in London.
