Hello you loverly lot

Day 3 of the serch for identity continued and was eventually resolved on the production of a Tesco Credit Card...WTF! the said 'can't do' on letters from CRB or DWP but yes on an old credit card

Just have to reset the online stuff now

Tonight is a family get together to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday. I'll be seeing Aunts, Uncles and Cousins I haven't seen in over 15 years. I'm excited and nervous.

Tomorrow I'll catch up with the house. Oh, I've bought DH's anniversary pressy, 2 Channel4 boxsets. He should like them (I hope)

Better see if this Zara dress still fits me

Have a lovely evening Grouchy, I loved my Gran's birthday, good reason to get the whole family together.

Our decorations are still up (apart from the ones that fell down!). I know I will miss the Christmas tree when it goes back in the loft . Have bought a sparkly lamp to fill the space with some Xmas money . Another snowy/icy walk to the shops (dd is getting used to it a bit more now). BIL due any minute so out for tea .

Apart from laundry and swish/swiping and washing up have done minimal flying for 2 weeks. Will start again properly on Mon!

Glad your Mum's ok (and back home) Tea.

Hello ladies!

Are we not doing resolutions this year then?!

Mine are:
Be a better parent!
Sleep more
Eat less sugar, drink more water
Have more me time - learn to knit, play the piano, sew, read, do some writing

Anyone adding to the list?

Nice to see you back Greyskull and Tortoise Scatty I am starting again Monday too
Tea you and your brother's relationship with your mum confounds me!
Grouchy hope you have a lovely party
Ruby I am sick of our decs too. May do in a bit with football on TV here.

Our piano has finally arrived! Months after first promised. It is FAB! But I am that I played for a year as a child and cannot even remember how to read the bass clef! Had to resort to writing the notes underneath. Sure it'll come back to me with practice.

Been to my grandma's today. Sounds easy but not - she is in her 80s. My mum doesn't have an easy relationship with her and only visits 3 times a year - birthday, Xmas, mother's day! She only lives 10 miles away, too. It's the first time I've been since last Xmas - we never saw that much of them when I was growing up. Anyway she smokes over 60 cigatettes a day and lives in a tiny bungalow with all the windows shut - you can imagine! I took the children with us for the first time and stayed for a couple of hours. it was ok, except my uncle arrived with his wife and 3 teenage kids.

Right, looking forward to some sort of routine returning soon!

evening all,

have just done another 2 hours of ironing and almost cleared the backlog.

changed the bed in the spare room after PiL and taken down the decs that the children put up in there for them
Dining room returned to pre christmas cleanliness and tidyness.

will do another 2 rooms tomorrow.

need to find a babysitter for DS2 for Wednesday, have been invited to visit SiL and new baby but they aren't keen on having germs in the house and he has a rotten cold so I don't want to take him. CHarles is only 3 days old I don't want to give him his first illness!!

Ayway

Big Hi to Tort Tea Wendy scatty & grouchy

Hope you have all had a ggreat day

Hi everybody - in a rush, had a great day out in Kew Gardens runnng around with a friend and her children for hours and hours.
Day was however not without its Irritations...
suffice it to say that we have now installed a swear box (for dh not me)
Anyway, enough of that, have tidied kitchen before bed, now going to tackle five of dh's work shirts and listen to Radio 4 {N.B.Resolution ticked}

I will be taking decs down tomorrow.
Decided on No NY resolutions as i always break them but have some things i would like to happen in 2010. Main one being to de-clutter everywhere, decorate front room (Brother will paint it!) and join homeswapper to see if i can find a mutual HA exchange.

I have wanted to move snce our holiday in the summer. Thinking devon/Exeter area. XP2 still lives very close and i don't want to have to worry about bumping into him wherever i go!

XP1 may not be happy as it will make contact with DS1 and DS2 a bit harder for him!

Also would be nice to have a bedroom of my own and finally sleep in a bed! Have been on the sofa since August as sofa bed broke!

Made a small start on de-clutter this afternoon (was out all morning). Cleared the top of both the fridge and freezer. Which meant sorting all the art stuff. Have got all paint stuff into one box and all craft bits into one storage thingy instead of 2.

TeaMonster · 02/01/2010 22:14

Evening Tort - hope the move happenns

groucy I hope you are having a fantastic time Mrs

Wendy my mother smokes. It is hard to understand my mother, easiest thing to say is she needs to be the centre of attention and it doesnt work like that, plus she doesnt listen. All it took was a phone call to me to Bro. I try I do, but the boys are my priority

Anyway I hope you are all well, we have 7 inches of snow and are bunkered down!

Hello again

I'm still in bed but do have plans to get up soon

Last night went so well. My grandma looked fantastic, 2 uncles, an aunt, a cousin and my brother + DP and suprisingly, my Grandad who went into a care home earlier last year. Everyone looked so well and it restored my faith in family IYKWIM. Shame I missed so many years of it.

OK, must do list is

Sweep and mop the kitchen
dust bedroom
Put clean dry washing away
saw in name tapes
get uniform ready
make lunchboxes

The world doesn't stop turning and I better get back in the groove

Morning all Tea I've enjoyed having everyone around, too. Being in bed very ill for 5 days somewhat altered my hols! DH did a great job but the house is an absolute filthy tip and I am struggling to sort it!
grouchy glad the family event was nice and you enjoyed it.
swan your family morning sounds lovely, hope it lives up to expectations
Tort can't imagine sleeping on the sofa for one night let alone months. You must be a saint.

Well I have relapsed a little. Tired and sore throat is back. Luckily I still have 5 days of super strength antibiotics. Doc clearly knew what he was doing when he gave me them.
Snowy here. DC whining and tired. Early nights all round tonight. DS currently bashing away on the piano. He actally manages to produce some quite tuneful results. Need to research how to teach little ones rudiments of the piano. He has just announced his loud stompy song was called 'dragon footprints'!

Right, not even dressed. Off to get moving.

Oh, Radio 4 sounds like a good Resolution.

Saw in nametapes sounds frightening Grouchy
Glad that family meetingwas so good - dh's mother is 80 so I thnk of 80 as young at heart and my dad is 76

Wendy - We are using for Ds2 (7)but his teacher uses it on five year olds
ME AND MY PIANO Part 1, very first lessons for young pianist by Fanny Waterman and Marion Harewood (Faber music £5.99)
My cousin has always been a piano teacher (for 30 years)(but lives too far away to give lessons to my lot) and says he won't teach children under 8, and after that they are a delight to teach. That is one point of view.

...sneaks in ,in PJ bottoms and a fleece, with hands over ears and eyes half shut....

I have a VERY bad case of Wine Flu....LOL

Went to friend's wedding yesterday...met up with some of my oldest and best friends that I have been VERY bad at keeping in touch with...
Had a great time ended up staying at friends house overnight, whilst wonderful DH brought the littlies home ( he wasnt drinking so that I could bless him!)
May possibly have consumed a tiny bit more wine than was advisable
Am now feeling very fragile...but only myself to blame LOL

Am going to drink some more water, have a nap, and hopefully wake up refreshed and will do some blitzing and organising for week ahead....

small appliances and top of hob cleaned
front and dispenser drawer of wm cleaned
herbs trimmed and watered
shopping put away (with help of dp)
