Cleaner - how to find one in London

Anyone in London use a cleaner and how did you find him/ her?

I used to use an agency but the agency fees are a lot and I'd rather pay the money to the cleaner direct. However I don't want loads of applicants who want to be paid cash in hand/ aren't legal to work in UK.

Any ideas?

Just stick a card in the local newsagent

You will get a huge response and you can choose who to employ.

Cleaning is usually cash in hand - but if you want to make sure they are legal then ask to see their passport.

I looked on my local page of Netmums and found my wonderful cleaner. Ditto the passport suggestion and make sure you check references.
