Morning all

I am off to drop MaxiMad at school and then off to the consutants to have the stitiches removed.

I am so pleased to be having them out this time, they are really tight and sore.

Then onward and upward

Good luck with stitches Tea Swan Your philosophical musings were right last night - I have made being a SAHM into a challenging job! The trouble with my DH is that he takes every random comment as a criticism of him, it drives me mad. Plus he has stopped trying to be a husband lately he is so swamped with life and a bit fed up. Hmm. A bit depressing for a Monday morning.
Thanks for thread EHM Wolf are you any better? Are you still off work?

To do
Library
Lidl
Washing mountain to scale
Home bless
Lunch
What's for tea?
Baking for DD's party and freeze(Sunday)
Yoga

School now, in the rain

Morning Wolf sorry to read about the dreaded swine flu.Hope you are resting & still off work?
TeaGood luck at consultants
wendy I can relate to both you & dh. we all go through this from time to time. Hope the yoga helps

Have poorly Ellie on sofa with snuggly blanket-awake most of the night sneezing, hot & coughing. She is completely full of snot! No PS today. I have applied online this morning for her Primary School place for next year. Now the long wait until end of April to find out what we have been given.

Off to make porridge & banana. Have a good day all.x

morning ehm wendy and tea

I am still off work today but will have to go back tomorrow. Just phoned quack and even though I feel like crap I am no longer infectious so am fit to go back. Really really don't want to to be honest, been awake half the night due to nightmares about work and I know exactly how bad tomorrow is going to be in terms of the amount of work I'll have to do and the cock ups I'll have to correct all before 3pm!

Anyway enough moaning from me. tea good luck with having the stitches out. I hope it feels a bit easier afterwards. Remember just because you have your stitches out doesn't mean you should be overdoing it.

wendy you have my sympathy. DP and I are at each others throats a lot and it becomes very tedious - he takes everything the wrong way. A quiet life would be lovely!

knickers you are making me intrigued - we had balloons at the gate.
Just ripping some CDs for the DC to my ipod and DS's new camera (which plays MP3s). He took some fantastic photos yesterday at The Deep.
Trying to have a quiet day, must get arse in gear though, half way through dishwasher emptying but have no focus!

So far this morning I'm feeling in an excellent mood

uniform all laid out last night and library books found, so calm uneventful school dropoff

Ds1 and I have done
some sheets in the wash
leg exercises
spelling workbook
a poem reading
now he's doing keyboard improvisation
then 10 minutes drawing a pattern of some kind
then it's 45mins free time doing whatever he wants except screens
handwriting practice (writing out poem)
and then off to shops/park for fresh air

Then dvd from 1.30-3 whilst I catch up on housework before other kids return
he seems delighted to have it all written down in schedule form

EHM - well done on the application completed
Wolf - sounds horrific, but just keep recuperating today and not worrying
TM - thinkng of you and hope stitches go smoothly
Grouchy - survival always sounds good to me!
Knickers - yes balloons on door are great - are you giving a party for dc?

quick hello all

tea good luck with stitches

wendy I couldhave written your post re DHs LOL Currently not talking to my dh..He is I knowunderpressureat work...alsojustgenerally overwhelmed with life....but sometimes I just feel lonely Alsonowmoreannoyed with him cause I think he has thrown away buggy raincover from car when he took stuff to tip...so poor ds got soaked this morning...LOL hmmm not good between us just now..
Did start reading book last nightthough LOL cant believe I actually have never read it!Will have to read fast now LOL
Oh and bday cake super simple.....basic sponge(I always use 225g flour,sugar,marg,2 tspa baking pwdr and 3-4 eggs depending on size....but may need to adjust for whatever size tin...for choc I just substitute about 60g flour for cocoa pwdr),then cover with choc fudge icing...will post recipe for that later....dead simple!,then cover with selection of sweets...
Normally make basic sandwich, but did 3 round cakes this year, and "trimmed" 2 to make slightly smaller, then layered them...Really simple

swan sounding very organisedand positive. Hope day with ds1 goes to plan

ehm hope dd soon better

everyone else hi!

right must dash for school run...BBL

Simply · 16/11/2009 15:13

Hello again everyone.

galen I like your layered bday cake! I made one for ds yesterday (b/d was the other week but he was away) and ds and I are manfully eating our way through it!

EHM I hope Ellie is feeling better by now.

TM I hope it went well today with the stitches.

I've spent some time outside today in the garden with the dog. She was playing ball and I was brushing the paving slabs with hot soapy water. The rain is being very considerate and is rinsing the path clean for me!

Right. I've finished my drink so I'm off to do some more. Back later perhaps.

Ruby perhaps the as-to-be-recruited temp teacher will be good! Perhaps you should worry about it after new teacher has arrived. Same thing happened last year at DS's school and the replacement was excellent, apparently! But I feel your pain, I'd be the same.
galen thanks for recipe, would like choc fudge icing recipe pls! glad to know it's not just me with DH!
Back from yoga, it was fab.
swan hope carrot cakes good - I've never made a carrot cake, and I love it! About the only cake I've never made, I think. There seems to be so many different ways of making it.
Right, need to go read DS stories.
