Morning all
Very TM having a brother & mates set up such a fun night. Kids looked like they had a great time. I'll try and share our staff kids party video with you all in January. Not sure my techo skills will be able to do it. Sorry couldn't post on your blog as I don't have a google account. (all this does my head in)
StarBear dad was very kind to me yesterday re my Diary mishap. I'm hoping it will all work out.
Boys have gone out to get my my Birthday present. He only has 45 mins before he has to take Ds to gymnastic so it will be something he can grab (that's my man!)
I have I'm going shopping in a mo with my trolley can't cope with the traffic outside. So it will be a small packet of soap powder

Right have made plans with one of Ds's school mates to meet in the park at 2pm so better get a move on. After that dinner at a mates house. (I knew it was an investment to cook for other people) I'm going to leave the housework completely today @what the heck (I changed the rude word. just love the emotion so cute.

Star Having a Bro and SIL that run a social club (for that read old fashioned workingmens club) is superb.

Next event is Childrens Disco on 8th December
Panto - childerella 23rd December
Childrens Christmas Party 28 December.

The events are 50p for members!!!!

It is such a wonderful time for the children and they do such a good job. It makes up for the fact that they are always working and we dont see them on an evening very often

I am taking MaxiMad to a party this afternoon and as I have not been able to buy a gift I have made one - a zip pouch with the girls name on it and filled it with wooden beads to make neclaces. Is this a good pressie for a 5 year old??????

Hello to everyone. Thanks for the thread Tea.

I'm having a quiet day today as both dd and ds have been busy with various things the last few days and I'll need to chauffeur dd around this evening.

Done:-
~ got up and breakfasted
~ went back to bed for a nap (naughty!)
~ got showered and dressed
~ took dd to work
~ two loads of washing on
~ cleaned out the cat litter tray
~ mopped the downstairs loo floor
~ sorted out recycling
~ put the shopping dh bought away
~ hoovered around a bit
~ took ds' curtains down. I'm planning to wash them @ 60 degrees and I'm hoping they don't shrink.

Yesterday I made the discovery that the living room lights give out much more light when the bulbs are wiped clean and the light bulb holders are wiped free of loads of dust!

Tea The gift sounds lovely!

Starbear and scatty. I'm very envious of your good weather. It is very grey and wet here.

afternoon all. Managed to get a fair bit done today. Hoovered the whole house as ex picked dyson up today. Mopped all floors that need mopping. Dropped phone in mop bucket! Grrrr

Knickers Is that always the way! You put more effort into housework and an evil lazy fairy goes & make your phone drop into a bucket! I'm sure she's at work in my house by making important events disappear from my head when I've been trying even harder to be organised.
Tea I would love to make the things you do. I saw cute little Cathy Kidson type aprons in Zara for kids, today £10! Okay can I give you a challenge. What creative thing could I make from white cotton shirts & small white buttons? I'm about to throw out these shirts but thought I could do something with them but what?
I think the little girl will love your present.
Scatty Stayed lovely and dry. The girl's dad was nice too. Not as good looking as my DH) I know you want a vomit emotion now!
knickers Well done & now how are you going to reward yourself?
Wolf Enjoy sparklers & sausages. We are taking sparklers to mates house too. A little rest sounds the right thing to do right now.
Simply Brilliant idea (get it!) I'll see if I have time to do that tomorrow.
Wendy You'll be middle of the madness now hope you've all had fun.
See you later I am going to have a 45min whizz around the house.[bisciut]

Im off across the road soon to a bonfire! Dd at exs so i only have ds. Btw, how do i get rid of a poo smell. Dd decided to inspect the contents of her nappy this morning then rubbed it in the carpet. Can still smell it!

Starbear Yep!

I have made another discovery. Hidden at the back of the dishwasher door is loads of black gunk! To find it, open the d/w door so it is flat, stand to one side, reach down and wipe from one side to the other with a dampened cloth or kitchen towel. Eeeewww at what appears on the cloth!

Knickers I think the answer might be to sprinkle bicarb of soda over the area, leave for a few hours and then hoover up. Even if it doesn't do any good, I can't imagine it would do any harm.

Right. I am going to do some hoovering and then some ironing. See you tomorrow!

scattyspice · 07/11/2009 20:06

Don't worry knickers the poo smell fades after a while (or at least you become used to it ).

Have just spent an interesting 40mins watching a 6yo and a 4yo trying to choose a dvd that they both wanted to watch! Usually I make the final decision, but i decided to leave them to it today (with the warning that the longer it took them to make a decision the less time they'd have left before bed to actually watch it). It turns out DS is a fine negotiator.

Morning everyone. I only have the tv to polish then Im done!

Wolf, enjoy your cup of tea in bed!

Wendy, hope the party went well and your house isnt too trashed.

Star, could you make little chefs hats/outfits for the dcs with the shirts? failing that, Im sure they could be used as rag cloths.

morning Wolf and knickers. What are you doing today?

Dh has gone for a walk with his mate so I'm taking DC swimming later then:
DS homework
laundry
ironing

Dh said that ils may not be coming to us for Xmas this year so it might just be us for Xmas Day (for the first time). I am secretly looking forward to the prospect .

That should be nice for you scatty. Think I might go sort out a bit of the garden into a veg patch later. Not much else to do really.

Hey girlies
My house is trashed!
Guests left at just before 11! DD had put herself to bed, and DS was drowsy on the sofa - felt like a really bad parent! But they so enjoyed themselves, and slept later this morning, that it's all ok.
It was all a bit stressful tbh, for the first half an hour. My BF who is renowned for being late, didn't turn up til an hour late - now how can you be an hour late for a children's party which lasts for 2 hours?! I was really cross, as that was 4 children down - she has 3 and one other was coming with her. Plus my friends from Durham cancellled due to their little one being poorly - that meant 7 children down. It was hard to adjust the activities to the remaining 9 children, when you're forever thinking more will turn up ... The second half was good, though, and the children loved the glow sticks I'd got - I think dancing in the dark with their glow stick was their favourite bit! The adult party was a bit stressy too, as everyone arrived at once, starving, and there were still children there from the children party (several didn't leave for over an hour!!).
Anyway, it's my own fault for doing such elaborate parties.
Rant over.
Off to get bathed and dressed - been playing with DC, watching Strictly and slowly tidying up.
