I have just learnt how to fold a fitted sheet

I was doing something like this for a while, but it's a bit of a faff. Now I roll them, which has the added advantage that you can tell easily which are the doubles and which are the singles.

I tend to take my fitted sheet, fold it in half and then sort of whirl it about madly in the air until it forms some kind of ball shape and then I shove it in the linen box under the bed.

But I'm going to try this.

The way I do it is take it off the bed, wash it, dry it and put it straight back on the bed thereby avoiding folding or ironing.

I must be quite sad because I actually watched that and found it interesting - attempting to fold fitted sheets has always been a bugger. Not saying my life has been transformed or anything, but you know, I am going to try it out!

I can fold a fitted sheet in about 30 seconds, but that's because I keep having to rebag the ones that irritating customers take out of the packaging at IKEA... glowers at guilty parties

I have exceedingly nicely folded towels as well

lol i can fold a sheet of A4 paper precisely in thirds thanks to admin job and can tie parcels beautifully thanks to a stint wrapping speciality bread in a boulangerie summer job.

Thanks for this - although it looks like it's a bit fiddly. I'm sure I'd need to practise loads to get it right. All my fitted sheets end up screwed into balls in a drawer. Will try next time

Oh, he's very slow! My old cleaner showed me how to do this. She had previously worked in a 5 star hotel and everything to do with beds was a speciality of hers. She does it the same way, but standing up with the sheet hanging down until the final folding, so you just bring your hands together inside the corners then flip them over - way faster!

bonfire you made me lol because I too can fold a piece of A4 paper in seconds into perfect thirds to fit into an envelope - I had never thought about these skills I was picking up while working in an office

Despite being borderline OCD my fitted-sheet-folding tends more to the MarkStretch school than the YouTube version - however I think I may be converted.

(And I am enthralled at the Japanese T-shirt folding!. I thought I was pretty good at knowing how to iron and fold everything A4 (military training!) but that is much more impressive

I have two flip folders and I disagree with this method of folding fitted sheets because when you do it you end up with triangles when you unfold them. I had DH knock up a few squares of plywood in the right size and use them to insert to fold then slip out when they are to size.

Do I get some sort of prize for being most anal on Mumsnet (not on a Friday)?
