Toddler beds or cotbeds though are shorter, sometimes different depending on manufacturer - tell us what length the gap is and maybe we can find one that fits.

Normal beds are 90 x 190 cm, but 90 x 200 cm is also a standard size - all our children have 200 cm beds as they are all likely to end up taller than average. You might have trouble getting fitted sheets for 90 x 200 cm - I know I do here in France.

thanks for your help I was getting confused between 2"6 and 3" beds and just realised that means width

Think I need to find a 5" length bed and mattress but want it as a divan with storage underneath so am off to google!

Not sure about shorter divans but you can get shorty loft beds then you can put drawers/desk/bookcase underneath.

thanks dd2 is only 2 so not sure I'd trust her on anything needing a ladder etc and because she has a teeny room she needs storage underneath, have found that you can get smaller divans (175cmx75cm) and we have space for 180cm so that should fit hurrah!

Ah, I see! Yes, 2 is a bit small to be climbing a ladder to bed!!! Glad you found something suitable.
