Tea I couldn't cope with the 5 am thing. Remember my DS went through a big phase of it a few months ago. In the end we had a reward chart for him staying quietly in his room until an alarm clock in his room went off at 6.30 - this worked for a few weeks. We have also moved his bedtime in the last few weeks after it started up again, he now goes at 7.30 instead of 7 and it has really worked.
Candles are very pretty but tbh not my cup of tea really - I am not a chintzy type (got a Hornsea pottery one and I'll be there!)
wolf morning!
Well off to leeds today so getting cracking.

Jas
What I don't get is how you have a discussion on a thread about the books if you haven't all read the same ones?! Sorry for being thick

Morning .

Mad - lovely tea cup candles, you could try and sell on your blog or donate to school Christmas fair (they might even let you have a stall if you have a lot to sell, you'd need to give them a cut obviously). Thats the trouble with hobbies, the fun is in the making then you don't know what to do with the finished items . I'm giving out knitted scarves for Xmas lol.

Moening Wendy - I am impressed with your party lifestyle lol.

Morning Wolf - hope ds is better now.

Today:
beach
shops
homework
gymnastics
finish house bleugh
laundry

First though we are writing letters to santa. My task is to make sure they ask for the presents I have bought them .

jas Thanlks for book club info...I do sort of get it LOL Does each book then have a seperate thread to post discussion of that book on? So all I need to start is one book, that I then post on and I get a different book in return....then we all swap books every month for 12 months....sounds a good way to have a supply of different books to read! I'd love to be in it if everyone in group agrees....will give me more motivation to get the end of the book if I have to post it on at end of month LOL Will pop over and look at book club threads

Hi all

Busy weekend at work...and now trying in vain to entertain 3 small children for the week[sigh]

I'm having a crap week of migraines which has left me in a daze and in no mood for noise or moving very far from the sofa

I think I might have to go out though, the kids are climbing the walls!

Morning all
Yes, Galen that is it....there are 12 threads, one for each book, so it isn't a fast paced discussion, and some people don't post anything at all about the books, which is disappointing.

That is prbably its weakest point tbh, if you really want a good discussion, but the range of books has been good, and it is lovely t get a surprise book in the post oonce a month.
(We don't post the book title on the thread so unless you are really determined to work it out, you won't know what the other books are until you get them.)

Mum and dad here today. Hoping to go to the cinema.

Galen - your dh and dds are sounding lovely today , hope it lasts.

Quite an eventful day for us so far. Managed to write Santa's letters. DD quite happy to include my suggestions (ie presents already bought!) Though she did insist on adding a horse . Then she oblitterated the writing with stampers lol. DS took ages over his (stopping to consult the Argos catalouge several times), thanfully started with the things he'd already asked for (which I've bought) but then added a Wii game (we don't have a Wii) and put plese, so it must be important .

Then we went to the beach (in the rain) and made sandcastles and plodged in the sea . Unfortunately we had to come home quickly when ds unexpectedly vomited in the cafe! He seems to be fine now.

Hi all
Been to Leeds to City Museum (excellent) and Art Gallery (lovely). DC bearable but a bit naughty. There was a sticky moment with DS shaking a sculpture, only for DD to copy, as usual! Don't think either of them are feeling too wonderful actually.
Just made cheese and marmite scones and lentil soup. Off shopping for a friend's birthday with another friend. Big night out on Friday night! What a whirlwind life I have lately! Goth wedding on Saturday night, too!
Scatty am at early Santa letters - prob just because my DC both have birthdays in November - tend to do Xmas stuff after DD's birthday!
BBL perhaps

tea love the candles.

had very productive discussion with lady from electric company. She discovered they owe us money as they did not give us the discount we were entitled to yay! She also discovered that we are not really getting the benefit of the economy 7 as we don't have storage heaters. Turns out we could have saved over 100 in the last year if we had had a single rate meter - I asked her to recalculate a years bills based on a single rate and she obliged. On my maths we would have saved about 200. So they are going to fit us with a new single rate meter. She was very helpful which is par for the course for that particular company. Much better than the last lot of cowboys.

On the basis of the refund we have ordered pizza!
