Has anyone got a Neff built in double oven ?

My built in Neff Double oven gets VERY hot to the touch. It is the main oven that is the problem - it gets very hot behind the handle and then if we have it on for over an hour the heat extends to the handle and down the sides. It is an issue for us so we have to use oven gloves to open it but I ma really worried about my toddler burning himself

Does anyone have a Neff double oven - does this sound normal ?
It is under warranty still so an engineer is coming out but I will have to pay if there is nothing wrong and he may just say this is standard. Seems odd though. The seal is totally pristine so I am not sure what he can do to fix it.

We have a new one - two months old. The door gets hot inside - I opened it and put a tray on it to pus some chips on and it melted the plastic bag!

It doesnt get hot behind the handle though - I would reckon the seal is not doing its job. DH works in Currys and says that the Neff rep has previously said that the engineers are good at customer service. Be interested to see how it develops as they do get very hot!

Ours doesn't do this, neither does my mum's. In our experience (>20yrs use) Neff are very good for customer service.

Mine isn't hot on the outside, no. It's warm, but I don't need oven gloves to open it and wouldn't be worried about a toddler near it. Of course it gets hot on the inside of the door though, it's an oven!!

I have one and don't think it does this so would check it out - I think some heat is to be expected - I have noticed that the cabinet mine is built into has discoloured slightly around the edges because of this. But you should definitely be able to touch the handle without it being too hot...

I have one and it doesn't do this - it is mounted higher up, so that the top oven is at eye level. Very toddler friendly at that height.

Brilliant - thanks so much for your replies ladies. Engineer coming out on Monday. My concern was that we have to pay for the visit if there is nothing wrong but your answers reinforce my suspicions that something is def not right
