.....or do you just make time!!?

I am in a mess! I work four/five nights a week and then during the days i do a part time shop job and cleaning jobs. So really, in between school runs i am lucky to get an hour at home.

How on earth can i get this house sorted??

Anyone else have this problem and can they give me any tips?

YOu can only do what you can do. Do you want to spend what little time you have beating yourself up over undusted skirting boards and the fact that you have an ironing pile waiting to be done?

JUst keep the house reasonably healthy and blitz rooms or floors every now and then when you are feeling time rich or energetic. I do most housework at weekends and that's not much tbh. Train your children to tidy their stuff, put things in the dishwasher and empty the dishwasher. If desperate go round with a bin bag and bin anything that doesn't have a definate home or that just annoys you. A clean bathroom basin makes the whole bathroom look clean and dusting is highly over-rated. You never need to wash windows and ironing is a choice not a rule Good Luck.

Thanks northernlurker, the voice of reason

I look at the threads where they talk about doing stuff on certain days etc., and all the other things they manage to achieve and it makes me feel useless, but i am so short of time I am only in now because i couldn't get into one cleaning job!! Off again shortly though!

I;m taking the socks and pants into work to sort out whilst doing the night shift tonight

Hi there,
Come and join us over on the fledgling flyers thread. honestly we all started off as being crap not very good at getting ourselves together. Honestly, the first step is just to shine your sink. That is all you need to do. Anything else is extra. Its all very baby steps, not the "plan to get it spotles and fail miserably" routine!
We're a friendly bunch and gee each other along. comehere and give it a try.

see you all over there!

I make sure the front room is hoovered & the washing up done & don't worry too much about anything else. Then when I get a day off I set myself 'chunks' of time - say 20 minutes and blitz the place for that time. Amazing what you can get done in 20 minutes. Then sit back with a cuppa!

I can't join the fly thread cos it seems to be full of people with more time at home, somedays i am not in at all

I am lucky enough to have this weekend at home so going to get on with serious cleaning/sorting etc.,!
