Have always thought dishwashers were unnecessary. However our house came with one. (Bosch Hydro Sensor) Trying to convince DH that it is more economical to use dishwasher once rather than wash up 8-10 times a day. I have no evidence but someone might know some stats?. Any idea which works out best?(It also gives me more time with the kids!)Thanks x
I lurve my dishwasher, we'd never had one before we moved to central Switzerland, as we don't have a draining board or any sort of recess in our worktop it's dishwasher all the way. It must be more economical and environmentally friendly to use yours rathe than the 8-10 times a day sink full of water.
"Washing by hand may be quick and easy for a few dishes, but it wont always save water compared with a fully loaded dishwasher. Imagine washing up nearly 130 items with little more than a standard 10 litre washing-up bowl of water thats what the most water efficient full-sized dishwashers can do.
To beat that, youd have to wash everything by hand in a single bowlful of water, avoid leaving the tap running and dispense with soaking or rinsing items."
