Help me organise my pantry!

Just moved to a place with a pantry! Well i think it is supposed to be one, it is a space at the top of the cellar with shelves, about 4 feet square, can't think what else it could be for?? There is tiled floor space for bottles. What else do I put in? It is possibly dampish so do I put flour and dried stuff there? Spices? Tins? Or do i keep those in the cupboard? What about potatoes and rice?

Am going out now but coming back this afternoon to organise!

Surely you fill it with jars of homemade jam, chutney and bottled fruit?!

I would put tins in there if it is damp. Also sealed things like long live juice, loo roll, kitchen roll

You could keep potatoes too, as it is dark but make sure they are off the ground.. Hmm maybe not they might rot.

Well, if it's a pantry it shouldn't be damp, so therefore it can't be a pantry. Ahem. More seriously, if it's damp, I wouldn't put anything dry like flour or rice there.

My parents had an area a bit like that in the cellar, and only put jam, chutney and bottled fruit in it.
