Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the thread scatty.

Sorry to hear that you had such a tough day yesterday Starbear. I hope today is much better for you.

Hi Jas. I wish I lived close enough to gate crash the party in order to eat jelly and ice-cream!

I have to go to town this morning. Seeing as I'm there, I might as well do the food shopping so that'll be most of my morning gone.

Done list:-
~ recycling
~ unloaded and reloaded d/w
~ emptied unwanted stuff from one kitchen drawer for it to go in the understairs cupboard box instead
~ fed the cat her foul smelling wet cat food. Bleugh!

Back later!

Hello FLYpals

Just got back from the McMillan coffee morning at the school. It was really great.

Yesterday was taken up with trying to sew the badges on GOjr's Beaver shirt. I didn't do a good job sadly, I'll have to be more confident about it.

The farce of Rugby training tonight then a girly night with the school mums.

Off to do the card making at the school now. Hello and best wishes to all and DCs

morning all...

Back from meeting and have post-stressful-event-headache Anyone else get them LOL)
Meeting went well though. Post Grad Dean was very nice. Was impressed that I had 7 years experience (said I didn't look old enough - made my day LOL) and said she thought I would definitely be able to get back into work without too much trouble. Plan would be to do a 6 month placement first which should be easy enough to arrange, then move into a post after that - which again shouldnt be too difficult. She did look slightly shocked when she discovered I had 6 DC LOL and said "how do you look so good with 6 DC" - cheered me up again...amazing what bothering to slap a bit of makeup on can do isnt it LOL
The only (fairly huge !) obstacle is that the initial 6 month placement would be unpaid - although obviously we would have to pay for some childcare during that time. We are going to have a think and see if it may be worth trying to find that money from somewhere for the long term benefits...
Funny as before I went I was really quite anti going back into medicine, but when I was there it felt sort of right, like I'd quite like to go back to it in some way if possible...

anyway not much done...but lovely DH has the day off (so he could mind dc this morning) and has taken DD4 to nursery so I am taking it easy for 1/2 hour, then will get cracking....

will try to catch up on thread and do replies later!

Good afternoon everyone.

I'm lacking in motivation today but I have a deadline. Dd's new boyfriend is coming here this afternoon and dd has given me strict instructions to have the kitchen looking A1. I have met him apparently as he was the boy who interviewed me one day in town. I saw these nice school lads looking horrified at having to ask members of the public questions and I volunteered. It's a reasonably small town I live near, I guess, so you meet lots of people at one time or another.

I dont feel like lunch yet so I've had some toast and a cup of tea and I'm going to do a list.

Right. To do:-
~ finish putting food and toiletries shopping away
~ move non kitchen stuff (papers, post etc) to dining room or sitting room
~ take football boots I cleaned days ago upstairs
~ clean the cat litter tray
~ mop the floor in the downstairs loo
~ make a banana cake with uneaten bananas
~ fold up ironing to be done
~ hoover round as much as possible
~ charge my poor little mobile which keeps toodling away at me because it is hungry! Bbl!

I am feeling like pants, too much lack of sleep adn a head cold, not a great combination.

DS2 still has an on/off tummy ache . I am just sitting down for a cup of tea and a bit of PC time before I collect him.

I have made a pack on no PC in the morning with him, so we have been busy, threading, gluing, glittering, cuddling, dancing and lauging.

Since he has been at Preschool I have

Wiped all the doors down in the house
Cleaned the trip traps
Put nasty sicky car seat cover in the wash and cleaned car seat
hoovered upstirs
Cleaned all the mirrors in the house
Cleaned the TV's
Cleaned the picture glass
cleaned the front and back doors
cleaned the conservatory ledges
polished upstairs
Cleaned the skirting in the lounge and master bedroom
Blown my nose a hundred times!!

Our lovley homestart lady is back from holiday today and we have really missed her and can not wait to here about her advertures. They went on a cyling holiday in Hungary - she is so cool. Her and her husband also do a National Trust volenteer holiday once a year too. This year they went to the Farn Islands!!!

So to do

Collect boys
Ironing
Out ironing away
Hang out car seat cover
package some e-bay items
list some more items
whats for dinner - freezer stuff
start DS1's homework with him

Sorry for no individuals, but I am rationed for time!!!!

Hello to all.

OYBBK It's a sensible list when you have a child who isn't well. I hope your dc is feeling better soon.

TM I hope you and ds2 feel better soon, too. You achieved lots today, despite your cold. I hope you can take it easy this evening and rest up a bit.

galen I hope you are able to plan things in order to be able to do what you want to do. If you have a spare bedroom you might want to consider having an au pair. I've had two so ask away if you do think an au pair might be a good option for your family.

go Those badges are a pain, aren't they? It would be good if the leaders pinned them in the right place with safety pins. If necessary they could ask the kids to wear t shirts underneath their shirts and then, before the end of the evening, the kids could take their shirts off and safety pin the badges on themselves as a "follow the picture" type exercise. Me, lazy? No, delegation, I call it!

swanriver Yes, it was busy and I didn't get around to having lunch in the end! Still, I managed to get some half price bargains in the reduced section in our local pharmacy and I think I got all the food shopping I needed. I also got my boots reheeled and made time for a hot chocolate in a cafe.

Right. I'm off to finish the hoovering and then I'm going to start on making those cakes. I've pretty much finished the rest of the list. Some of it was a bit slapdash (a quick wipe instead of mopping) but I can do it properly tomorrow.

Yr2 meeting for DS - done
Collect DS - done

Laundry - reboot

Went to a meeting for Y2 parents. His teacher this year seems great and is not making a fuss about SATS (phew). Main things to learn seems to be money and time (well we all struggle there don't we lol).

Everyone I've met today has a cold!

Galen - sounds like a very good meeting. Hope you can sort something out for your placement. I am picturing you as some freshfaced young thing now!

Have a good Eve all.

Jas, Hope the party went well and your DD had a lovely time!

Simply, I went food shopping yesterday with no kids and it felt like utter luxury! Even though I had headache, nose ache and sore eyes!

EHM your DD sounds very busy today! Was she tired at the end of it? I'm not sure how much my DCs can take. I took them out after school on Wednesday and Thursday. Is this too much? They didn't seem exhausted and no more naughty than usual!

Grouchy, is the rugby training for you or DS?

Galen, it sounds like your meeting was a great success! What was your job before?

Simply, Oh God I can't imagine what it will be like when DD is old enough to have a boyfriend! [dread]

Teamonster, Hope you and DS2 are better soon! It is hard enough to cope with kids when you are in tip top health! What does your Homestart lady do for you?

And you Badkitten, get well soon!

Ruby, Hope your DDs sleep ok tonight!

I haven't posted for a while as I wanted to concentrate on getting the blimmin letter done and I've had hormonal headache and other symptoms! I have actually finished it but not printed it out now because I feel nervous about it. I'm being stupid, I just need to get it sent and forget it! I've got another letter to write which will also take a long time but it's not as 'serious'. I've done about half of it.

Not drinking in the evenings HAS made a difference to my mood the next day! I've been much more tolerant of the DCs! I've bought some non alcohol Cobras for tonight and I did try red wine vinegar with fizzy water (couldn't find raspberry vinegar). It didn't taste as good as red wine but it did take away my craving for it.

I've had an easy day today and have just done a few things:

-send parcel for one of the nephew's birthdays
-baths for children
-DD's reading book and spellings practice
-DS's reading book and writing his name practice
-clean kitchen and bathroom floors

Evening all Much better day. Worked with my new work colleagues instead of the old, which was part of yesterdays problem. I asked my lovely new boss if I could have a member of the support staff that looked like a bouncer and was ex-services (due to the item in the news) and he said yes (only joking)he has also allowed me to go on a course Yippe! He even says good morning & how are you!!! I was going to catch up with you all but, DH has walked in with our curry for tonight.
Just in passing
Swan Isn't great to get the house back from the builders
