Thanks scatty, just a quick reprt as I know lots of you thought of us all yesterday....

Funeral was yesterday, and went well. It was fairly unconventional - his daughter spoke, we had a few tales of Goa from his mate, then we had some interesting music, all signed the coffin, and went to the pub.

All the stuff I had arranged went fine, dp said he looked happy when he collected him.

I was soo relieved, I was shattered, and was asleep by 9.30last night!

Party tomorrow (for dd2)so still busy, but much less stressed now.

Back later - I hope.

Hi galen. You're not alone. If it wasn't for this thread, I'd probably still be in my pjs!

Done list:-
~ brought bin in from driveway
~ put the recycling stuff where it belongs
~ emptied the bins upstairs
~ thrown the duvets back on the beds for them to air
~ eaten and drunk my elevenses!
~ showered and dressed
~ one load in the w/m and out on the line
~ put another load in the w/m
~ gathered all the towels for washing

To do:-
~ ironing

No, that's it! I'm going to keep it really simple today and just aim to clear the ironing pile.

Jas - glad it went well, hope dd2 party is not too much for you; at least nothing but celebration in a birthday.

Busy morning again
Managed to get a bit ahead of game through last night's cleaning, and tidied kitchen before went to work
Also got ds1 and dd to do singing practice
and remembered ds1's violin at last minute
Dd's reading comprehension exercise in 5 mins before exit too

Work was not nice, had a scarcely concealed clash with a co-worker over discipline issue Whole business with ds1 elsewhere in school has set my hackles up.
It's funny how when you are being unfair/strict to your own children it seems just part of family life but in an institutional setting it just rankles. Also the shouting is v. offputting when you hear someone else doing it.

Now had Long talk with builder over various matters, door planing, rusty roof lights.

Jobs to do
Still need to sort out dd's room (it was painted again in case you are wondering why I haven't done that already
supper - rest of bolognese

afternoon all
simply thanks for thoughts. Hows the ironing going?!
swan sounds stressful at work...and yes I hate to hear children getting shouted at ....doesnt stop me doing far to much of it to my own children at home though

Hope everyone else doing well

Fairly relaxed here...Got a bit done this morning - not loads but enough to keep us ticking over!

Bedrooms tidied, upstairs hoovered, washing under controll..

still need to :
Sort dinner (sapg bol too I think..)
general downstairs tidy...
laundry reboot again.

DS now napping - thankfully afternoon naps seem to have been restored...

really hoping for calm evening though...

Oh dear Swan - it is a mindfield isn't it. I'm finding that at Beavers, not discipline issues as such but how to handle the cheekyness and general boistrousness (I'm too soft it would seem).

DS had a little cry again this morning as we were waiting to go into school. He took himself off and stood facing the wall with tears in his eyes. I decided to leave him to it (I just make things worse otherwise) , but his little friends were all a bit worried. My lovely friend came to the rescue and told his friends that he just wanted to be left alone for a while. He went into school ok (after an extra big hug). Its so difficult to see him sad and not be able to help .
BB after school pick ups.

scatty oh poor DS. it is so hard to see them upset isnt it. I hope he settles back in to the swing of it soon...

Well just coming on to update my TO Do list I have finally got round to thinming about tomorrows meeting about going back to work...
Have :rung to confirm meeting
Sorted out directions
cobbled toagether a vague list of where I worked when as best the depths of my memory would allow! (cant call it a CV really...but tis just a meeting, not an interview so should do!)
Now need to sort something to wear and iron it...the will be all set... still V nervous and stressed though...

Off for a cuppa

If there is one thing I know - you will find extraordinary depths of professionalism once out of one's own home - odd really. You will know far more than most junior doctors

Tidied the daughter's room and moved back umpteen bits of furniture and reallocated many different pairs of socks

Hello to all.

galen I've done a fair bit of ironing. I'm trying to forget that I have more things on the airer in another room. I've also cut the grass, ably assisted by my four legged mower chasing canine friend.

scattyspice I hope your ds was fine after the initial upset this morning.

Now that I've had a quick sit down and a glass of water, I think I'd better get back to it!

Back from school.

You sound well prepared Galen. You'll feel better afterwards.

DS absolutly fine now, had forgotten all about his tears this morning. Hopefully this phase doesn't last long.

DD on the other hand has fallen over again, this time scabs on her nose and forhead as well as knees and hands. Thats 3x this week. I think she is struggling with her club foot in the playground. I'll ask if she can wear trainers instead of school shoes for a while as she manages better in them.

Laundry now.

Hello Everyone

Sorry I have not been on earlier, but Thursdays are not nice days for me.

galen you will be fine, you can manage 6 children, you are more than capable of anything you choose to do. get your affirmations out wonder woman.

Scatty I really feel for you with DS, I had my first dose today. DS2 was inconsolable when I collected him from his first day at Preschool on his own. He had only been that way from 4 min (they were timing), but it broke my heart. I am also sure that DD will be fine in trainers. Our school allows trainers as shoes as long as black or brown!!!

swan we will all be looking to you for advice on teenagers

jas sounds perfect to me. You did a fab job

I am shattered and taking DS2 to the GP in 30 mins, he is sat on the sofa with flat frank (hot water bottle)

Shopping done and away - yes with mad mother
washing brought in off the line.

I need sleep and decongestant. I have DS1's cold and am so so tired!!

Woohoo tomorrow is Friday

Evening all this is the first time I have sat down all day.

Been to second afternoon at school this week we hectic, complete madness and I have to say has made me wonder if I'm doing the right thing or maybe if i've chosen the right age group - it was like being in a class full of DDs - all eager to telltales on each other.

Tomorrow is my first full day at school no3 and I'm a little nervous, both at being in a new school and being there for a full day - i'm sure it will be fine its just the thought of the unknown - its also working with older kids than I've worked with before

Had an interesting evening though - decided to finally get organised as I've made such a poor job of it so far this week so ive been in the kitchen all day, made toad in the hole with fresh veg for tea, and made fresh veg soup and minestrone soup for the rest of the week/end - I also found a soft roll receipe for the breadmaker so have made these and a fresh loaf - We'll be living on soup and bread all weekend. Been and done my shopping for the weekend too as well as some homework and two loads of washing.

Off to watch some soaps whilst waiting for the food to cool.

Hope everyone is ok. May not be online tomorrow - full day at school and then night out at the dogs in Sheffield for a charity night - Just what I need after this week

Good luck too MC - it is emotionally demanding dealing with kids in school, I think good teachers must have a knack of not overextending themselves to breaking point.
