Both rindless - the rind now being in Marslady's lemon drizzle cake - but what can I do with the rest of the lemons?

Chop them up and put them in a Gin and Tonic dear.

If you chop the other one in half and put one half in the fridge it will keep it smelling nice for a while.

As soon as I saw thread title I thought "make a g and t and then you won't notice the dirt" but I see Fluffy got in there first.

Ring Kim and Aggy and see if they're busy.

Another one in the g&t camp here

You could always slice them up and freeze them, for future g&ts ...

Use them as currency for scurvy ridden cleaning women.

Speak to them slowly and clearly, make sure they understand what you want them to do.

i once read a 'beauty hint' which involved resting your elbows in the two halves of a lemon to get your elbows all smooth and white.
i was only 14 so i tried it but i wasn't sure why..

Have a go with the lemons instead then, ZZZen.

I remember that beauty hint too, dreamylady. I never tried it, but I suspect if you kept it up for too long the smooth white bits would be your bones.

I watched a repeat of Kim 'n' Aggie while processing the ironing mountain this afternoon - and they did it! Citrus fruit in microwave. Five minutes, and the microwave was so vile it still needed scrubbing, but I bet it smelt a lot better.

Pyro, at bony elbows, and 'processing the ironing'. In my house we do this by piling everything up for so long the stuff at the bottom goes flat. Takes a special skill to whip the bottom item out without toppling the pile.

That's an excellent tip, dreamylady. Both I and my 9 year-old did some ironing today, but it just created a new problem of overfull drawers. My 11 year-old said in wonderment that she hadn't realized that she had so many clothes. It's obviously been a while.

Thanks for the microwave tip. I tried it, but don't really notice much difference. Also tried the lemon half in the fridge - and I don't notice much difference either.

I've got a bit of a cold, maybe I just can't smell it?

Also used the juice to clean the oven door - and it just left bits of pith on the oven.

I think I'll stick to lemons in the G&T.

If you've got a cold, add it to honey and hot water, for heaven's sake, and leave the housework alone.
