Sorry if this has been done before, I did see a thread on maggots in bins, but I wanted abit more advice.
My wheelie bin is supposedtobe emptied every week, but last week, the bin men didnt empty it. Now I have loads of flies swarming all round my wheelie bin, and I imagine, probably loads of maggots, if I looked closer whichIreallydontwanttodo.
The bin men are supposed to come tomorrow, and somehow, I have got to pull my fly infested wheelie bin from it's resting place up my path to the road, and it is making me feel panicky and sick, just the thought of going near it.
Also, what do I do with the bags I cant fit into my wheelie bin, since it's now been 2 weeks since it was emptied?
My friend has told me that bin men can refuse to empty your bin if it has maggots in it. Is this true? Do I need to remove every binbag from my wheelie bin and scrub it out and get rid of the flies/maggots before they will empty it?
I even have the odd stray fly in my house now.
I am about to clean my house thoroughly, so as to prevent any more flies from wanting to reside in my humble abode, then I thought I would spray fly killer round the downstairs, just as I am on my way out with DD. I was going to leave her outside in the buggy while I spray the flyspray, then off to a friends this afternoon, but what else should I be doing, to deter flies from wanting to move in with me, and how do I deal with the bin? If I accidentally touch maggots, will they stick to me, and drop off in my house? I mean, what can flies and maggots really truly do to me if they touch me while I am moving my bin to the road?
Sorry if this all sounds rather silly to you, but I feel so sick at the thought of them. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
