Morning Swan How did the sleepover go?

Had a lovely afternoon/evening yesterday. A friend is going to TEFL in Europe at the end of the month for a year and taking her DS. The DCs played while we caught up, chatted and in the end they stayed for dinner. A really good atmosphere was created. Very enjoyable. I'll miss her

Every carpet and mattress is spotlessly clean after industrial shampoo, pity about the rest of the house which is now upside down..children are tiptoing around damply. Luckily they did not do hall or stair carpet, (as it shrank last time - any more and it would be a runner).

Sleepover went very well, as sleepovers go, in the sense that guest did not want to go home till 11.15...but perhaps should not have combined it with carpet appt
Little girls went to sleep at 9.15pm /woke at 6.00am to continue tidying dolls' house. Too early for us lot. Lots of group playing hide and seek, running on spot races, figures etc.

Nowhave plonked dcs in front of video so that I can tidy up and get going straight after lunch.

I think what I really enjoy about holidays, is seeing lots of people and then retreating to the family unit again - it is so cosy to have all the children in the house and have to please noone but ourselves.

Afternoon ALL We're home.

Took Ed for a breakfast butty at the caff in the next town. Hit the charity shops (large bag of booty there) and visited Ed's best mate from pre-school.

Laptop/admin time for me and some Wii time for Ed (it's raining here now, bah!) then I'll coax him to the rugby training

bye bye tatty

Ordered the bookshelves from 3 days ago after further dithering (as our bedroom is disappearing under tide of paperbacks)
less dusting then and more reading hopefully
it is absolutely pouring so can't leave till it stops but ready to go
kids have had lunch
dd is repacking her knapsack
just need to get their socks ON.

Oh dear whats happened to Mads eye?

Well done on the sleep over and face painting swan and prof .

We've been in London since Mon visiting BIL(you live in a beautiful city swan but huge!). We had a great time, very busy. We went to the science museum (Wallace and gromit exhib a big hit!), Hyde park, Peter Pan play (fantastic, DC were transfixed!), London Zoo and Nat Hist museum.

Back home today then off to Wooler for a week (hills and beaches - a complete contrast) so mad unpacking, washing, drying and repacking today.

Hope you're all ok. See you next week.

Evening all

Scatty I am so pleased you had a lovley time away - I love London too. I have an infection in my eye

I have had a nice day with the boys and my lovley niece, she really balences the boys out and is so much fun. She came over and told me she loved me at soft play.

Not done much else really, washer is on
Boys are in bed, although DS2 keeps coming down

I am going to have an early night and ask Mrs Insomnia to stay away.

Catch you all tomorrow

I read the thread earlier this afternoon and have now forgotten most of it! Sorry!

Today has been a whirl of laundry and sorting stuff out ready to go away on hols. I'm not going to be around for a fortnight so bye for now and see you the w/e after next. I hope the weather improves in the UK so that you all have two weeks of sun!

Ooops, sorry I'd not read your post TM as I hadn't refreshed from earlier. I hope your eye infection goes away quickly. Do you have to have abs for it?

Hello

Work is going very well thankyou TM...I LOVE IT INFACT!!!

I'm not sure how long that will last though!

I had a long busy day today and I stood for well over 10 hours on Tuesday at the Royal Welsh!! (In the pouring rain) Exhausting to say the least! But I'm still loving it

swan can you tell me in detail how you industrialy shampooed your carpets...I'd love mine to be spotlessley clean Did you hire a machine?

Does breast milk cure bad eyes then? ROFL....I think I'd rather go for Optrex or something....although I have to say a squirting boob might be less messy...I remember having quite a good aim!

Right better get off...I'm off to murder some foul mouthed teenager who is standing right outside...swearing and squeeling and if she wakes my kids up I'll be MENTAL MAD!!!!
