Sorry Scatty!
I am bright and early or rather I was dragged up at 6.15 by the dc - thought we'd cracked all that since we moved bedrooms [angry} Wish the powers that be would invent a grumpy emoticon!!

Shopping and coffee with mum as per Friday usual then pre school music class and I think it will be watch Finding Nemo later for a rest

I slept badly, too, though, so perhaps I can't blame the DC.

See you all later

Wendy - I am just so incompetent (sigh). I have linked everyone this way (I think ).

Morning wendy (and everyone). never look at oneself on a video! I'll bet you look fabulous in real life . I always look harrased in photos/videos when I'm with DC (unless i have deliberately assumed a cheerful pose - then I just look manic).

Today:
lots of rain (dh muttering about flooding).
ds to school with gifts
DD last day at nursery . I have been visiting that nursery for nearly 6 yrs!
last day at work for 8 weeks (yipeee)
DD club foot clinic
Try to coordinate school pick up
dh to collect car part from garage
someone to Lidl
Kick back and relax!

Have a good day all.

We have another week at school here so still time for gifts and cards. Haven't decided yet what to give! Saw your homemade mugs TM very nice.
You're right about the video scatty but I think it's just a confirmation of what I look like really! We have no full length mirror so it's a shock!
Better go and dress DS for nursery now, see you all later

Morning my wonderful fly friends

I too feel a bit pants wendy, but have to agree with Scatty on the vid and photo thing.

Right Scatty I think it is fine to get a little emotional, it is the end of an era and shedding a few tears is not an issue and woohoo for the holidays

Wendy Another week of school - do you go back a week later or are you actually only getting 6 weeks off.

DS2's big boy bed arrived, but the jobsworth delivery drivers refused to carry it upstairs as it is too heavy, even when I offered a cup of tea and did the double mastectomy and two preschoolers card

It does mean that I have the rest of the day to do something in this nasty wet weather other than the ironing moutaian

Morning all scatty I am a cross between Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta Jones. I am tall, long legs, pale clear skin, long brown hair and so on. That is how I see myself. In photos, I can be mistaken for Hev in EastEnders! (not really, but close)

Off to playgroup now. Last day as it closes over half term which is a PITA.
Not sure what's happening later, but the plan is,
Puree
15 mins declutter in boys room
Ironing (didn't do yesterday)

Ladies night with playgroup mums tonight. We go to the playcentre at about 6:30 (without lo's) and get drunk! Can be very funny and nice to unwind.

Hello FLYladies

I have a GP appointment at 11. The flu symptoms have got into my sinuses and it's either seek proffesional help at being able to move my head without excrutiating pain or spend the weekend dangling my head over a bowl of steaming water. Another shocking night's sleep behind me but Ed is happy playing on the Lego site so I can stumble round in a snot filled fug

Thanks for the thread Wendy and Scatty Teamonster* How do you do it all? Your Blog is marvellous. I like the new name BTW

Wendy, my mum used to have a wonderful mirror in her house that stretched one (v. slimming) only problem was when you noticed your face was giraffe-ified as well
I have banned all videos of family life, (actually it is my recorded voice I can't bear)
Anyway, wait ten years, look at video again you will see how young and beautiful you were!

We are having a blissful holiday at home.
Children are sleeping till 8.30 in their separate bedrooms - long may it last.
Dh is findng mornings difficult, he has nothing to do except feel worried about work, and no children to distract him and chat to him at breakfast.
RAINING
what was my plan?
handwriting
vp
(load of laundry done)
dw on so no need to unload
and no LOUD voices today
BOLT this afternoon
friends at 3.30 to play

What is the harvesting situation in your garden TM, apart from courgettes? Loved your garden blog.
Dd had such pleasure making a bouquet for her teacher from garden (I was amazed that she found so many flowers - didn't think there were any) (wine as well, think that was important element of gift)
Yesterday she picked some more for a friend's mother.
Now we are waiting for tomatoes, which are very behind (we started too late I think)

Done
handwriting practise one child
vp another child

nwo just need to pin down the others - where aer they?

Suggested to dd that she do a shell collage out of felt. She looked completely horrified. Back to the dancing again.

Feel I am now off hook with all organised activities. Possibly slug pellet trip later.

Sorry about sinus pain Grouchy, I recommend some hot Thai chicken soup. That's what worked last time, the chillis really helped clear the inflammation. I think it's also the air pressure - dh has had a headache for last week.

~ wash up cat and dog bowls
~ hoover kitchen prior to mopping

To do:-

~ wait in for delivery

grouchy Hope your feeling better and the gp can did rather give you something.

Just back from playgroup and shops. Boys both in bed asleep without lunch/milk so that'll mess the afternoon up. Nevermind. Popping back to the playcentre to help set up some stuff for tonights drink-fest. We hold a swap-shop so all the donated bits and pieces need to be sorted and laid out. I don't really feel like it now, but I said last week that I would.

Hello, We're back

The GP checked me out and it is a nasty head cold with added slime and he's given me a lazarus like decongestant. I can breathe and move my head again yay!

Ed has blotted his birthday copy book already He opened his special birthday card today and just left it on the floor, just taken it for granted, no suprise or amazment. DH is really I'm and Ed thinks his day has been cancelled. I think he needs a shock like that TBH.

An afternoon of him keeping out of my way will be nice but it's not good is it

Hope they still slept a long time LBB, sure it won't matter in scheme of thngs.
Swapshop sounds like perfect solution to clutter issues - well done on helping withit.

DONE
We've had a nice morning lots of bricks and reading - shepherd's pie from freezer for lunch
bicycle ride in park and some fresh air
Ds2 is still a raving loony - think he is really missing polite society having been away from school and people for so long (well his family doesn't count)

Simply, I'm doing some ironing while Bolt is on. Definitely. Last time I watched it I cried, and wanted a dog so might have to avoid it this time.

Galen, this time I didn't give a present to Lollipop lady (she always seems to get them) and felt sooo guilty crossing road with my sack of presents. But it was out of control, perhaps I need to just rotate the gifts round different members of staff {poor dinnerladies, sports teachers, choir lady, library lady etc) Gave vinegar and jam one year because I was desperate (not even homemade) and all the teachers were rather "plump" so didn't think they wanted chocs

Must ration myself on PC as well this hols.
{STERN}
bbtomorrow.

Grouchy [sneaks back} don't feel bad, they are not aware of the effort we put into things. Ds1 was always thrilled with his card[for 1 sec) but still managed to just throw it on floor and move onto next thing. Whereas ds2 would spend ages looking at his card and put it on shelf.
Now if it was a card ds1 had made for HIMSELF it would be different.
I think they prioritze quite differently and know we adore them, so are not really surprised by anything we lavish on them [bit sad really I agree)

Swan I think we'll offer him a truce later today, we just want him to, ah, you know. My brother was the same at Ed's age if I recall correctly. I have to remember he's only 6.

Hello again to all. go My dh is just like that with cards. He takes a quick glance at the front then quickly reads who it's from and then it's forgotten seconds later. As swanriver says, they're not always aware of the effort that goes into things. I'm sure I wasn't aware of all the work that went into our family Christmas, for example. All the card writing, present buying and wrapping; vistors and extra food, etc. I think it's much easier to appreciate things when you're older and do it for someone and then you realise what has been done for you in the past.

swanriver I've not touched the ironing. Still, ds is home after being away all week and he's off again tomorrow morning at silly o'clock. I wonder who'll draw the short straw for getting him up and taking him to meet the bus - me or dh? Ds' report has arrived and it's a good one. I think he's working pretty well but if he focuses more next year then he'll get the GCSE grades I believe he is capable of.

LBB - Yay for your playgroup night (sounds like my kind of playgroup lol).
