That's sounds a great day!
Echo forfeits being fun. You sometimes need another adult present though to help the littlies read them...(if you are doing the music)

Poor ds2 is still poorly. His symptoms seem to be worse at night. Now trying sips of flat coke, which my kind dh has just rushed out and bought for him. But his fever has gone, just v. wakeful.

My busy weekend was going to be 5 people to stay (3 7-12 boy cousins)and then a big family meetup in Hants, but I think we may have to modify. My sister's coming from Dublin, but she has loads of friends in London, so if the worst comes to the worst she won't have a problem finding beds, it's really that they were so looking forward to having their cousins in the house. Also ds1 is in a concert on Sat night.

Done
laundry at 4.00am and hung out just now
lunchboxes x 2 (funday at swimming and playng field for ds1)
swmming kit
dh has thrown away 3 shirts - hurrah
did loads of ironing last night

Now
coffee
clean kitchen, wipe table

wash down door handles
s & s bathrooms
tidy ds2's room
make remaining beds
throw away last of freezer leftovers from fridge if not eaten by lunchtime
mop floors downstairs
mop bathroom floors

having some veg delivered is heaven TM

Swan When we lived down south we had a weekly riverford delivery, but as I did the shopping during the week I couldnt justify it - but we had a leaflet throught the door last night and it seems really reasonable so thought we would give it a go.

Have you thought that DS2 might have swine flu?

mroning all

need to be brief.

not great here today
Had phonecall at 1am last night/this morning to say that FIL was in a coma
DH has got a flight for lunch time today.
Anticipated calm morning thrown rather into chaos as a result

not sure what I'm doing today....need to construct some plans for solo flying wk/end

have managed to arrange for someone to collect DS1 from leavers party tomorrow night though so that is good....

stressing about funerals and logistics now....and feeling very sad for DH, FIL and whole family....

He may well, but Dr friend (not my GP) says they are not using anti-virals anymore, "Swine flu is not serious, will pass in a few days, and just treat it like any other flu."..She also said it was driving her nuts having 20 patients ringing up to discuss their swine flu symptoms which meant she couldn't deal with more serious cases of meningitis, pneumonia, heart attacks. Soooo, I think that means I just have to stick it out with paracetamol nurofen, and flat coke.

On the other hand, I don't think vomiting is part of swine flu, and he doesn't have a sore throat any more so ???? May have to ring at 11.00 which is talk time at our surgery.

galen feeling for you and dh . Take it 1 step at a time.

swan poor ds. I'm sure ds had swine flu after 1/2 term. GP said 'a mysterious flu virus' they weren't testing and no meds given as he was being sick and medication on an empty stomach likely to make this worse (i agree). GP said to treat as flu and return to school when eating normally again (it took a week). I was bracing myself for a family epidemic but the rest of us stayed healthy (unusually for us sickly lot). Shame about your weekend plans though.

grouchy thanks for the help.

mad good luck at preschool, at least you'll be going back next year with ds2.

Not much progress made so far, have been building a train track (I'm quite pleased with this one ).

good morning all galen, thinking of you

mad I hope ds has a good last day

got a nice letter through the post this morning - notice of intended prosecution for speeding taking ds to A&E last week (36 in a 30 zone), ARSE. I am normally so careful as well, problem is when your child may have been poisoned and NHS direct tell you to get to A & E you don't realy think straight. So I am and bloody at myself, now need to go to post office to post the form back to them.

I know envy is not a nice thing but how can I not be envious when KnickersOnMaHead's MIL takes a big bag of ironing away. You are so lucky! I could give an example of my situation but I don't know if anyone from RL who knows me reads this so I'll just simmer quietly! [grrr]

Still to do:-
~ washing up
~ ironing
~ finish the paperwork that's littering the kitchen
~ post some stuff back to John Lewis and order some replacements
~ put financial paperwork in the files they belong

galen You and DH are in my thought.

Well that is it DS1 never has to go to preschool again - sob.

All that is going over and over in my head is "schools out for summer"

Boys have been to the park after collecting in a bid to stop be blubbing

Now to think of lunch and get DS1 out of his uniform

Report
galen · 10/07/2009 12:12

ah TM your allowed to blub if you want! Yay for being on holiday though.Enjoy

everyone-else Hi, and thanks for your thoughts.

Have done room rescue in dining room and kitchen...mopped floors...sorted some washing.
Played lots with DD4, DS2 has napped

I'm going to go and wander round the shops this afternoon with DS2 as I cant settle to anything....need to get a couple of bits an bobs...may also treat myself to a coffee somewhere...
Will be something from freezer for dinner...school pick up, then pick up DS1 at 6.15 after return from rounders final...
will have a pizza myself I think as can't be bothered with much else...

Right off to get dd4 ready for nursery, BBL

Sounds like a good plan galen.

Mad - I'll be the same on Friday when dd finishes.

Swan - He was being sick for 5 days (sorry). After that he was very reluctant to eat as was afraid of being sick . No problems with drinks though. Good luck. How is ds now?

Have a garden full of children, hope they are ok (daren't look). Have the fish fingers on.

knickers - yay for your mil
simply - I'm guessing yours isn't prone to doing your ironing.

galen I completely understand you not being able to settle to anything. It's a good idea to cut yourself some slack atm.

Terrible howls from upstairs. Assumed he had thrown up again. Luckily just tipped cocacola everywhere I felt v relieved.
Dr said it may be swine flu, but it will pass and we may not all get it...
He has just had a teddybear tea party on his bed and is now pretending to be a plane, so asome improvement I guess.

SImply - I feel your pain.

My MIL regularly does my BIL and SIL's washing, but never even offered to do mine when I was seriously ill in hospital and all these weeks I have been recovering

galen I agree it sounds like a plan, try and make the weekend as easy as possible for everyone involved - you are all hurting.

I feel the need to get us all together again - how about a meet in York at the soft play here. Give me your avalibility.
