Hellooooo everyone. I'm back

How come no-one has started a thread today? All busy with RL?

I'm at home all morning. Have cleared out my car and plan to delve into the garage in a bit.

Hello, Eustacia, I see you have decided not to be a tragic heroine anymore

Bad night again with vomiting child.
However, kind friend babysat this morning so that I could go to Ds1 Choir and Recorder Music Assembly for 30 mins. It was so beautiful I cried, and luckily did not involve violins.
Simply, sure you know the emotion.

Wolf, hmm, I think though fond of Gwen, Captain Jack is the other way inclined.

Now, DONE
lunchbox last night
signed report forms last night
all piece of clothing in house seems to have been washed and is decorating doors radiators, bannisters
wHAT'S For DINNER? - lentil shepherd's pie (will they eat it hmm)and salad

TO DO
Look after ds2
Need to rationalize laundry
hang out another load
sweep kitchen floor
wipe table
(rest relatively tidy)
make lentil bit of pie
cancel carpet cleaner
sort out cookbooks, tablecloths and napkins again

Upstairs
continue with paperwork sorting and chucking possibly all day
Get ladder and go round picture rails in dd and ds1's rooms with wet cloth

Good luck with car, EV, I sigh with relief that I cleaned inside it a week ago, really a weight off my mind.

Morning all

Shopping with mum this morning always takes 10 times longer than it should.

Only just got back and packed most of it away

I have also had a sicky child too (DS2) threw up all over our bed - so more bedding in the wash

To Do

Iroining and Put it away
Whats for lunch - leftovers
Whats for dinner
wipe all tops in the kitchen
make 2 beds
mission
mop floor

Welcome back EV any sine of Swine flu yet?

swan Glad you managed a babysitter and enjoyed the assembly

DS1 is having a teddybears picnic at Preschool this morning and we also gave his teachers their pressies - his Head of Preschool nearly cried I just wanted them to know how much we appreicate them both for making this year such a joy for him. He runs in and never wants to leave and that is mostly down to their hardwork and dedication.

Ah, TMH, here is your recipe for Apricot Raisin and Yoghurt Loaf (I substituted apple for apricots and sultanas for raisins ifysim)
From magimix cookbook but I used just electric hand whisk.

5 floz 150ml plain yogh
I tablespn golden syrup
I tsp bicarb
3 oz 75 g of dried apricots (I used one apple)
4 oz 100g of wholewheat flour
" selfraising flour
I tsp baking powder
1 tsp mixed spice
4 oz 100 g soft butter (I used Stork cake marg)
3 eggs
3 oz 75 g raisins

chop apricots (or apple)- you can do this in magimix but then put to one side

mix all remaining ingredients (EXCEPT fruit) in bowl with electric whisk (or recipe said in magimix for 10 SECS max)

stir in apricots and raisins (be careful if you are using magimix, need to pulse only v. briefly)

pour mixture into lined 1 and half pound loaf tin for 45 mins at Gas 4 or 175 C (fan assisted 160?)
prep took me 10 mins I think...clearing up slightly longer

V. moist and not too sweet!

afternoon all

EV thanks for thread
swan sorry about DS - hope hes soon recovered. Assembly sounds lovely though.
mad shopping sounds a triall. poor DS2 too. Hope hes better soon
scatty Hi!

DD3 finally back at school today yay, and DD4 now at nursery , Ds2 napping, so I'm having a much needed cuppa and quick break LOL
Done a bit of gardening this morning with DD4 and DS2 (they love to "help" in the garden...LOL this is why I never get much done!!)
Also done a quick tidy and lots of washing...hung out, then brought back in when it started pouring....now draped strategically round house....

House looks a disaster, but wont take long to tidy really...mostly just stuff dd4 and ds2 have scattered throughout this morning...

Had Ds1 parents eve at his new secondary school last night. It went well, all staff seem very nice....but Made me quite emotional to think of my first little baby going off to big school all on his own....it feels he'll be so much more removed than when at primary school....
Right, enough sentimental waffle...
A list I think:
To Do:
Tidy downstairs
Sort dinner
washing away
....cant even remember what else LOL

we are having a very chilled out afternoon
lentil pie made and some banana muffins for lunchboxes
about to eat it
and watch Dr Who
mess is slowly slowly receding wth the tide

also beginnng to assemble little packing piles of already ironed clothes (not that many of them so need to keep them safe for hols.

now just putting dcsin pjs
ds2 is still happy to lie in bed and do nothng - hope he perks up tomorrow. I've given him little sips of lemonade.

I think if the kids are calm, it is a productive day TMH. Paintng and icetreasure sounds lovely.

Just starting to make lists of possible holiday activities (indoor ones I mean)
so far I have:
scrapbooking
cooking
drama with friends and dressing up
wrting postcards to friends
felt sewng
handwriting practise with poems and decorate
learn a new word from the dictionary
research history & science from books and computer - topics to be decided
storytime - exciting chapter book in afternoons Harry Potter type tbc
art theme - tbc

mustn't get too optimistic, but it would be nice to do a few extras whilst we have time.

I have just read Peter Rabit and Squirel Nutkins to the boys - it was lovley. I love the classic tales and have been waiting to start on them for ages. We have done the wind in the willows. We bought the sets out of DS1's christening money and it is great

Washer is on

Need to think of food for me and DH

I was named after the rat in Tom Kitten
Squirrel Nutkin's behaviour is quite dreadful and he comes to a nasty end. I read it to a Reception Class once and felt worried that parents might complain Ds2 used to go around chanting Hickamore Hickamore.
