i will iron tops if they are very crinkled. apart from that only work shirts get ironed.

Same here. DH does his own shirts and I don't iron a thing. Unless I need a specific something ironed for a specific reason, then I do it about 15 mins before I'm due to go out!

none here either - if I go out in the evening (perhaps 3 times a year) I will get DH to run the iron overit while I'm doing my hair.

He does his own work shirts and I wear stretchy jersey stuff nearly all the time.

nope. i find if you give the clothes a shake before you hang them up they are practically crease-free when dry anyway. Plus i always think any creases drop out after wearing for 10 mins.

But then im probably in denial and walking round like a bag-o-shite.

Me! I've never done ironing, only my DH shirts. If you hang things up in the bathroom anyway the creases fall out.
Too much time is wasted on ironing, pay someone else who enjoys it .
My mum never ironed either, but my best friend used to come home from school to a mountain of ironing most nights when she was a teenager and she HATES ironing as well.

I iron if I am going somewhere like a wedding. DH doesn't wear shirts. We probably iron 5-6 things a year between us.

Recently when my mother came to stay she dug my ironing board out from the back of a cupboard. The dcs both stopped playing and went to watch this wierd and wonderful activity. They now refer to ironing as "the thing that grandma does with clothes".

Nope I don't I hate it and I am rubbish at it, dp won't let me iron his shirts (he doesn't wear them often) as I do it so badly. I will iron a few things that look awful if not but it only happens about once every 3 months. I guess I will have to do more when the children are at school and their uniforms need doing.

Anything that might need ironing - put it on a hanger straight out of the washing machine and let it dry like that.

Maximum of one item a month gets ironed around here I'd say.

Send DH's work shirts out, and the DS iron their scout shirts. That's it. Nothing else gets ironed in this house, although if I could find a lovely white, crisp cotton shirt that would fit over my norks, I'd buy it and iron it!

Stopped ironing 15 years ago when DS1 was born.

I see no point in ironing toddler clothes that will last no more than an hour or two before getting covered in food and fluff.
And I look shit whether my clothes are ironed or not, why waste time?

TOP TIP: if you put something on and it needs a helping hand smoothing out, get your hairdryer on it and smooth it out with your hand as you go. Works a treat on T-shirts!

I am drawn like a moth to the flame into this thread. I spend ridiculous amounts of time faffing about ironing. Mainly surveying the pile rather than actually doing it.

I'd like to liberate myself, but I'm too long in the tooth to not do it. I'm programmed to to it fgs!

Nope, none at all. We don't even have one. I hang things up flat and it seems to do the job. DD's clothes get folded and put in a drawer but mine just get thrown in a big wooden chest though I do pair socks and hang up a couple of dresses.

When I was doing my access course a couple of years ago I mentioned my non-ironer/general slack laundry status to some of the women on my course when they were moaning about all the ironing they had to do. They all looked and one of them said, 'But you don't look like you don't iron'.

I very occasionally iron some of mine or the DDs clothes for a special occasion. There are certain things we wear in the summer which have to be ironed (cotton dresses & skirts etc) but I own very few of that sort of thing.

Mostly I live in jeans and t-shirts and line-dry so they are never that creased, and the creases fall out pretty quickly anyway.

I must admit I PMSL reading another thread this week by someone who was overwhelmed by their housework and planning to cut corners by "only ironing T-shirts on one side" . Sorry if you are the OP from that thread!

No, don't here either. Only exceptions are very very creased outfits (rare, try not to buy such stuff)

I never understand people saying, "Oh, I've got a pile of ironing to do" Why do it if you hate it?

Never used to when the dcs were small but do now that they are al school. Have always done dh's shirts though.
