How can I stop my baby clothes from fading?

I wash with a non bio at 30degrees, but they still look faded really quickly. Any tips?

Are you air drying them out in the sun? Sun definitely fades things. DH had a go recently about his no-longer-green polo shirt I left out a bit too long.

Otherwise, do you use any water softener tablets, such as Calgon? I don't know if hard water fades clothes, actually - just a thought.

Thanks for the response.

I put them on an airer next to a window, but I'm not sure if that counts.

We're in a medium water area too.

Are you washing with non bio powder?

If so it contains optical brighteners (aka bleach) and it WILL fade clothes (but keep whites white)

many own brand non bio liquids contain them to, but of you use fairy non bio LIQUID OR persil or ecover then they dont so wont bleach the clothes

Wash, dry and iron inside out.

I do wash inside out...but I do use powder. I'll switch to liquid once it's ran out.

keep your powder for whites....

other wise your whites will turn grey
