We currently have a Vax upright, which really isn't that good for getting stains out of the carpet.Just wondered if anyone has one they can recommend please?
Thanks

We have the Vax All Terrain which is great. Our cream carpet gets a real battering from 3 dcs, 2 cats and a dog and it comes up beautifully after one going over.

It's got rid of things like soot and blackcurrant, as well as all the day to day marks.

Which Vax have you got?

Thanks very much-that sounds great.I'll Google it.
We also have cream carpet throughout 2 ds's and a couple of cats.
Not entirely sure which one we have, but it's at my fil's house,as I've had enough of it.

We have a a bissell which is a godsend now that we live in a rented house next to farmland that we walk in daily and 2 cats and a dog. Lifts out stains and pet hair that my dyson animal leaves behind and leaves the carpets very fresh.

We have vax all terain too, it has a heated element so as well as washing the carpets are virtually dry after use.

ds (asd) had a little experimentation with my dark lipstick on the beige carpet - I mean a whole lipstick pressed in! Vax removed 90% of the stain and I did a bit of scrubbing.

All Terain also has a decent warrenty (6yrs I think) - because of over use previous vaxs have never survived over 18 months.

Mine is the V-125 and I got it from amazon.

Had mine a while but I think I remember that there was 1 in the range above mine at the time and that the only difference was the base / brush area was wider.

Thanks Tibni.
They look really good and so are the reviews, but everyone seems to be reviewing them as a vacuum cleaner, rather than a carpet shampooer.

DH just sorting paperwork, its def a "Vax v - 125 All Terain Carpet Washer" www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h__0_15?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=vax%20all%20terrain%20carpet%20&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 washer&sprefix=vax+all+terrain

Takes bow at first ever MN links and crosses fingers it works!

We paid £140 in Nov so there may be better deals out there
