How in the name of all that is wonderful am I going to dry out my kitchen?

Bloody washing machine has leaked spectacularly today - actually looks like it might have been going on for a couple of days.

It's in a cupboard and the first thing I noticed was water seeping up from under the floor tiles in the join between the kitchen and the hall , so the water has obviously gone underneath the floor and is seeping out.

It's all under the other cupboards too - I've taken the kick boards off the fronts and mopped out as best I can. The best I can come up with is laying down loads of newspaper and waiting for it to dry out - any ideas?

thanks.

pita is right! Better than the 'burst pipe under tiled floor' scenario I had going round my head when I found the water though.

Do you have any blow heaters. Maybe put a couple of those around the kitchen to help ddry it out quicker. Phone your insurance company they may be able to supply you with an industrial one (this happeened to a friend of mine), they will also replace any floorboards that have been damaged.

That's a good idea about the blow heaters. I'll see if I can track one down.

lol at sawdust. Just what I need in there at the moment, what with the water and the horrendous dirt and spider webs under the cupboards...

My DB had massive leak in house that flowed from attic all the way down to ground floor. He hired a de-humidifier and that helped hugely. Took few days though.
