Thinking of getting a Brabantia bin, I thought I would go for the 50 litre one but is this too big? One description of it said - good for a communal public place like an office. We are a family of 5 (baby in disposables).

I have a 38 litre. Family of 4 with baby in disposables and toddler in disposables at night. I think it is well big enough for us.

oh, depends on how much recycling your council collect as well I suppose, it does cut the bin volume down quite a lot.

A kitchen bin can never be too big.

depends how often you want to empty it, me & dh argued about this. i wanted a smaller one and empty it every day, he wanted huge.

we went with huge. he won.

men, size isn't everything you know!

We have a 50 litre one, it's not too big! We put nappies into a seperate small bin next to the front door and empty it daily, so the kitchen bin doesn't get smelly. There's only me, DH & DS.

I find smaller better (carrier bag size) so it has to be emptied daily and no smells.
