Anyone know what these small ladybird-like brown insects are that i keep finding in my house? Am hoping it's not a sign of a filthy house! Are they good or bad guys, or just "there"?

I have these too and don't know what they are. Mine live inside the window frames so I have no idea how you would get rid of them.
Bump!

Hi,
We have these and most of my friends have these who have older houses. We thought they were woodworm but they are actually biscuit beetles. They live in old birdsnests, spiderwebs, dried flowers, baskets etc. Ours come out of the chimney gaps and in the bathroom window from the facias. They are harmless and I just sweep them up and pop outside. They only appear at certain times of the year. I have given up stressing about bugs. We live on their territory not the other way round. Unless they are eating my house then they can stay

If they have a zig zag marking they are probably carpet beetles
