Thanks for thread TMH. Hope you can get a moment to yourself this week before you go in, will Dh stop work a bit earlier? I'm sure your house is looking superclean and organised from inside out, and your dh will be excellent at coping with boys.

These lists are like a dose of strong coffee Galen. Always full of admiration for your lists and your ability to multitask.
Dcs back to school with washed PE bags and waterbottles and bookbags (luckily no homework)
Rang sister first thing, and she ws still grumpily asleep at 8.00 (her dh was bringin gher a cup of coffee!)despite three kids, so clearlyI am not alone in my morning unfocusedness.

Now
Put washing away
deal with hall where it appears several wild animals wrestled with coats and shoes and discarded
iron the stuff I never ironed last week
mop the floors I nevr mopped either
make my bed (changed sheets last night thank goodness)
make kids beds
what's for dinner baked savoury pancakes 10 pints of milk to use up and rice pudding?

Finally found Lark Rise last night Wendy great Sunday treat, tho Dh refused to let me watch J Paxman after as he finds him too annoying

Back from holiday house a disaster but I am smiling because I just watched the very cheesy shiny sink video on flylady I'm not sure I'm smiling for the reason she had in mind but it worked

Right, I need to......

Put nappy wash on
Feed baby
Dishwasher empty/ load
Shine sink

BEFORE I come back on here!

Have a good day all.

Well done all but sink so that's a start.

Disaster is in part due to having 4 kids and partly at this point in time due to having poorly baby week before half term so doing loads of last minute washing to have stuff to take with us and the rest still being around the house not having been put away while we were packing saturday morning in between taking ds4 to out of hours dr and nextdoor crashing into our car Then getting back saturday but being out most of the weekend so not unpacked as such so stuff everywhere. Oh and ds3 missed his toys so got loads out and the floor is covered!

You are all inspiring me to get back into this, I'm off to shine my sink and then do lunch after which I will set my timer for 15 mins in which I shall gather all of the clean clothes that are scattered around my house and put them in the ironing or upstairs to put away.

Keep at it!

swanriver · 23/02/2009 12:26

Good Dame, so holiday itself ws not the disaster! I've done a bit but managed now to have put my backout I need to run around faster and perhaps it will realign..

scattyspice · 23/02/2009 12:42

Hi all.

Mad - take it easy this week so that you are in tip top condition for your operation.

Swan - sit down girl! You are over doing it!

Dame - glad you had a good holiday. Sometimes the unpacking and laundry can last as long as the holiday LOL (or is that just me ).

Having a hectic time at work. BBL.

Report
Jas · 23/02/2009 12:53

lol @ the idea that running faster will make your back better

I have stayed off the computer all morning, and we have done homework and housework (inset day for the dds)

Can I mention homeblessing from yesterday?
I don't do it in one day.....some jobs I don't do - no magazines or papers, so nothing to cull, and the rest I spread over the week to fit in with my other jobs.

I have done:

Sweep kitchen
empty dishwasher
wash up
wipe surfaces
tidy and hoover dd2s room
hoover dd1s room (she tidied)
homework with both dds
mop kitchen
clean wheelie bin
1st load washing in machine
yesterdays dry washing put away

I still need to:
tidy sitting room
hoover downstairs
tidy and declutter dining room
clean whole bathroom
wrap presents for ds
find and write new baby card x2 for neighbours recent/imminent arrivals
wash sitting room curtains

spend some time replannning FLY routines.....my computer killed all my saved emails which is where I had my routines written down, and I have the weekly one printed out, but not daily ones. I will look through old FLY threads as I've posted them on here before, but they need updating anyway I think.

Report
HerbWoman · 23/02/2009 13:02

Hi all,
Can I join in please? I've had the Flylady emails on and off for years, and it has helped, but still put stuff off far too much. Now kids are back at school, peace reigns, and I could do with getting on with it.

Do you all have control journals? Do you use them?

OK, will go and put some washing on. Already there are only 2 hours left before leaving for school.

Report
Jas · 23/02/2009 13:07

Of course you can Herbwman

We all have our own variation on how we do FLYlady. Lots of us rely on this thread (we link to the site at the start of each day)rather than the emails.

I've never had a control journal, but did (until recently, see last post) have written daily and weekly routines on the computer, and stuck up n my kitchen wall under the calendar.

Sorry. Not here. I am tidying, not mumsnetting

Jas · 23/02/2009 13:08

Sorry, dodgy "o" key.

Report
damewashalot · 23/02/2009 13:27

Not here either much tidying to do but hello herbwoman

I fell off the fly wagon a while back and am trying to get going again and maybe even stick with it long enough to get as far as things being habit this time.

Considering trying the journal this time as I failed last time without.

my sink shines!!!!!!!!

Hi jas, looks like you are doing well still, are you well enough to be flying today?

Report
HerbWoman · 23/02/2009 13:33

Oh, yeah, me too Jas! Thanks for the welcome, it's good to have someone to do these things with.

Have been making repeated trips upstairs returning toys that have made their way down over the week. I can't stand too many down here. Right 1.5 hrs left, and I've no idea what's for tea (no good at this, am I ).

Report
ShannaraTiger · 23/02/2009 13:41

Afternoon all

Jas i'm not here either. After also losing all the routines when teh computer died still haven't managed to write sme that actualy work for me, or maybe I'm just beyond hope!?
HerbWoman hello
swan lie down and take a rest.
TMH dc time is always priority over holiday, especialy in your situation. Remember the brain nevr actualy forgets anything just loses the pathways to find it so build up and strengthen the good memorys, nobody else remember the mess anyway

Done
Washing 1 lot washed, 3 lots dryed and some put away?
Cleaned the kitchen bins
Did on-line banking
Friend poped around for a cuppa.
DS put to bed very tired and grumpy.

To do:
?
Loads,
Dd told me last night I need to hoover the sofa and chairs I suppose at least she noticed they need doing. Dp told on the phone earlier that one of the walls in the kitchen need bleaching again. I think I definately need to turn this computer off, and do todays mission, the hot spot is turning into a raging inferno and I keep falling over the charity shop bags when i get into bed!
Will then try and sort out my routines.
Have a good afternoon
BBL

Yes, thanks, Dame, much better as long as I don't eat It is a shame `I don't need to lose weight, as four days of crackers and water must mean I have lost some!
