ive lived here for 3 years and ive never done a proper full clean. im talking walls top to bottom, skirting boards, all upholstery, curtains down to be washed, massive declutter. i started my bedroom today and i have tomorrow and wednesday to get as much done as possible. im not really looking advice just plenty of encouragement and motivation. i have ds 3.5 aswell so i imagine that could prove a big distraction/ excuse not to finish. all wise words and support welcome.

Gosh, you're taking on a lot at once! Have to admit I've never done as "full" a clean as that - ever! Take it a bit at a time, and don't start so much at once that you can't get it finished and end up with a bigger mess than you started with. Have you got a reason for having to do so much at once?
Good luck!

its long overdue, between pets, teenagers and ds the walls have become really grubby, none of the curtains have ever been washed and the windows have only ever had the quick spray and wipe. the house is just looking really tired and unloved. its at the point now where it puts me in a bad mood when i come home and see it or if im in the house too long during the day. i think its a case of clean house, clean mind really so i do want to succeed at it for my sanity if that makes any sense. also, we have our 2nd baby due in exactly 3 months and i want to have myself in a good routine well before that happens, im thinking its going to be easier if i start with a blank canvas. and ive done the cake already thisisyesterday the house still looked the same.

I'll join you - I am decluttering / cleaning as we are moving in a few weeks.

So far I have put a load of stuff of freecycle and spent too much time on here

I am about to do another 15 minutes though, then have a bath and then collect DS from football stuff

Flylady has some good tips for decluttering (not that I buy into the rest of it)

i would love a drink!! but i dont think its recommended during pregnancy so i shall have to persevere with cleaning. today i finished my room and sorted a load of toys and clothes for ebay/ charity shop and rearranged spare room. not sure what good that did except waste time but it looks pretty now andmeans i can leave that door open. really tried to stay off here untill this evening but i needed a quick cuppa and the computer was calling me.
