Help! Bleach on black trousers

Argh. In a fit of zeal, I attacked our bathrooms today and was over-indulgent with the mould and mildew remover, which of course is heavy on the bleach. So I now have a rust-coloured patch on the arse of my black trousers (stretch cotton). Not q sure how it got there in particular but that's another story.

Is it too late to effect a rescue? Or can someone help me with a super remedy?

The bleach removes colour so you can't really rescue it.

Dyeing them black may help but you may still be able to see where the bleach was.

For some reason DS often comes home from nursery quuie often with bleach marks on his trousers. I;ve tried dying them but it doesn;t seem to work - the patch stays even after dying - I;ve tried machine and hand dye. I still send him to nursery in the trousers though!

I suspected as much. I am SOOOOOOOO cross with myself. Will just have to make sure I remember not to leave the house in them one day! Thanks for your replies though. Maybe I should buy a permanent black marker and try colouring the patch in

i think if you bleached your whole pair of trousers... then dyed them they might be wearable again
