How to clean a moses basket?

I've stored my moses basket in a stupid way and it has got dusty. I discovered this yesterday, after I said my friend could borrow it. I am ashamed.

I've wiped it down but it needs to be better cleaned. How should I do it? Or should I just confess and get rid of it?

Failing that, if I did it with a wet cloth, do you think it would dry out or just get damp and smell?
