Morning Mad - thanks for the thread and links.

I love the way Kelly thinks dusting the tops of my door frame and cupboards is going to be a short mission. What about the time allowed for hospital treatment following the inhalation of 6 inches of dust?

Anyway, busy morning today. Have toddler group mums coming over so likely to have a house full of small children running around. And it's too cold here for a morning of outdoor play. Morning routine is started but still got quite a few bits to do and also want to clear out the fridge today in preparation for shopping - I intend to do that every week and usually manage it less than once a month. Hope everyone has a good morning.

Hello, Mad and IVC, I ws up early today for once, so have done:

Recycling kerbside
Geography computer map skills with ds2
Breakfast with late risers
appt for dd at dctrs (stomach now...?) but hope to have her back at school this pm
Made a bed
Some laundry away
Table cleared

TO DO
Now do some more homework with her
and unload dw
Another 10 mins on boxroom mess.
Need to go back to work this afternoon.

Really having probs with fridge. Dh keeps buying tasty treats whereas I feel I can make a meal out of old cheese rinds and brussel sprouts if nec therefore reluctant to chuck anything if it might come in useful.
Still, managing to keep food on right shelves.

I was discussing stash and dash room with dh last night and the only solution we have hit on is for it not to be spare room any more but have child in it fulltime, otherwise mess keeps accrueing(sp?) I mean one of existing dcs not new one.
Where does everyone keep their paperwork in their house? Kitchen, spareroom, living room cupboard? Suggestions please.

Swan We keep it in the spare room, which is also the study.

We need to keep the room as if DH works from home that is wear it happens.

Trouble is it is just a dumping ground. We are going to sort through it and decorate it, then organise it in the hope that we keep it clean.

That was meant to be idea with our boxroom TMH, (I was meant to work from home in it)but I think I prefer it in the kitchen and will never ever get anything done in that boxroom so maybe it is better to make a sleep zone. Anyway just warbling on to myself...off out now..beds and dw, and laundry DONE

saga enjoy the gym
swan sound s agood idea to make it a sleep room if it saves it from being dumping ground- not that that stops my bedroom from being a dumping ground!

well i have done
tidy
hoover
dust
wash up
sort dry washing
strip my bed
load washer
s&s bathroom
mission
also spent 15 mins sorting out under my bed- that was just 2 of the boxes hidden there, think i need more than a week to organise that room!

still to do
make a dent in the ironing ( pile is huge will take over an hour just by itself!!)

that will have to do as i need to go to my nans now, really dont feel up to it but she cant get to the shops by herself, think i will just go but not stay for the afternoon like i normally do

Morning all

Popping in very briefly to say hi, morning been a disaster so far!

Just spent an HOUR on the phone trying to sort out ASDA order due this am. They rang to say card hadn't been authorised so I panicked, and checked bank acc, but plenty of money in acc (well not plenty but enough for shopping LOL) so rang ASDA - cue on hold for endless hours to random overseas call centre..... resubmitted details, card still not going through. Rang bank, more endless call waiting... card fine apparently, details not submitted correctly or prob at ASDA end, rang asda back... more endless waiting... tried again... still not going through... told them it was their prob and I had to get on! Apparently still getting shopping... we'll see . Second time this has happened with asda in last 3 weeks! Would have been quicker to just go shopping. Feeling disproportionately irritated now , plans and routine all behind schedule.... off for a cuppa and chill then will get FLYing!

BBL!

TMH. If dh was working from home he would DEFINITELY have to be out of sight.
Dd is suffering from stomach probs, due to amoxycillin, (which will end soon I know)and I can't go to work which is really frustrating tense making as I'm letting various people down, and there isn't any cover from other volunteers.
BUT, will just have to make my excuses and do something useful HERE.

Hi all.

swan remember they are not paying you!. Re paperwork - I try not to keep much tbh. Recent stuff is in a file in bedside cupboard and old stuff in a box in the loft. Computer in the kitchen. 3rd bedroom is a playroom, DC share small boxroom to sleep (DD still in toddler bed so just about fit). I agree, a 'spare' room will always become a dumping ground .

galen How frustrating!

To do:
Story teller after school
laundry
sort p/w in kitchen
mission
ds reading
exercise!!!

Evening all. Just checking in as DD is having her dinner. Good day here, most things done so feeling more positive than I have recently!
Swan I have a new filing system that I read about somewhere. Get one of those cardboard files and put everything in it for the year. Then at end of year I go through it and transfer any stuff I still need immediately (car insurance cert, birth cert etc) into the new year's file and put the previous year one in the loft. Then I've still got stuff I might need but it's not all bursting out of the filing box and I can, in theory, keep on top of it. I only started it with last year's stuff tho so I'll need to keep you posted on how it works.

Right, DD is throwing peas on the floor so I'd better go!

Hello everyone

Galen I had major issues with Asda too, and gave up on them after one call too many overseas. Then Tesco kept not having stuff I had ordered so I had to go shopping anyway ... I have given up on online shop now. I do Lidl weekly and Sainsburys for bits about fortnightly, just the bits you can't get at Lidl.

I have had a rubbish day today, feeling SO tired with this virus I've got. Had to have a lie down on the sofa this afternoon with DC playing in the room - sleep was nigh impossible but I managed to doze I was feeling so ill. Of course DH had yesterday off work sick and slept ALL DAY except for two hours playing on the X Box

So you can see I am feeling pretty rubbish about life in general. Ho hum.

Flying not going so well lately, just doing the basics, and seem to be walking through mud all the time and no time to sit down, always going off on a rant about toys everywhere, clothes, ironing, mess, dirt etc - you all understand - instead of just getting up off my franny LOL and getting on with it.

Tomorrow is another day

Report
TheMadHouse · 21/01/2009 18:03

Wendy I think you need to have a discussion with DH. Also remember the thing with flying is you just step back in 15 mins at a time.

We had a really long walk, but the biys are bing nutters at the moment, so I am tuning out and having a cup of tea before PJ's and quite time, they are both running around in various states of undress

I must iron tonight

Thank you Mad you are such a good friend, you are right about the 15 minutes and DH more !

I should have taken the children out for a long walk, it's ages since i took them out in the afternoon. DD naps til 2.30, and it always feels like the afternoon is gone with the darker nights.

I must iron tonight too!

I enjoyed the discussion about shoes yesterday. used to have loads, and then decluttered them all. I miss them all so much!
