I dont mumsnet as much as I used to either, but you ladies are my ballest in stormy waters.

I think that it is just the current climate of finding things to have a moan about and all the negative thinking that is going on look here People are so impatient they can not wait for a bulb to warm up. Get a grip, at least we have lights.

Rant over

I never understand the problem with low-energy light bulbs anyway Really can't be bothered to complain about things like that - as you say TMH at least we have lights!

Thanks for the thread EHM
Good luck with the beds Tort
Hope the boys calm down TMH, it's stressfull when the pervious day repeats itself again the next morning!

TMH it is a phase. Dh used to deal with fighting over trains (eg) by playing with them and completely throwing himself into action. That worked. I used to get more and more frustrated and woundup but hit on an even better technique which I learnt on parenting course. You leave them to fight and try not to be drawn in. You praise them for playing together, or notice them for their individual games, ie: that train looks like it's going very fast, is it an express? And you try and ignore pleas for adjudication. 'He's hitting me'. 'He keeps taking my red car' 'He's breaking it' You respond to these inflammatory comments with neutrality. Poor you, that's a pity. Eventually they get the message that fighting isn't going to get lots of attention from you and might start playing together or parallel.
If they are really beating each other up, you have to set up two separate play areas in same room even, and try and praise them both for their individual games.

BTW I got three very cheap toy buggies just like Shannara said, and they lost interest in them immediately, because they couldn't fight over them any more! But at least they weren't fighting over the wretched things.

Now shortened morning routine.

The teachers keep leaving our school and we were discussing how it was because of Culture of Complaint. How parents just kept niggling and niggling instead of trusting teachers. Not enough homework too much etc etc, little johnny wasn't wearing his coat outside etc. Teachers completely worn out by not only dealing with children but prickly parents.
I love to complain (to other parents), and rant away to dh, then sometimes feel very glad I never actually complained to poor teacher because it all blows over anyway.

Morning all.
1st bed on Ebay ends at 12pm. It is still on £5.60 . I am going to be the winner!!

I don't have any problems with my energy bulbs. I was a bit worried about the thread the other day about the mercury when they break. Have never broken one but will be more careful now.

Going to have a tiy up around the desk now and the whole room. Looks like a bomb has gone off.

TMH Hope your two calm down a bit.
EHM How is DD doing these days? Does she like pre-school?

Morning all!
Agree about the complaining issue. Some people are just never happy . At meeting for new starters ( those 4 yr olds just started reception) the other day one mum was complaing that they hadn't brought any homework home yet and was asking teacher why not! They are only 4, and have only been there 2 days!

So going to have my own little moan now LOL
Had big argument with Dh last night. He has lost a folder with important stuff in and somehow that is my fault{hmm}?! ( the fact he leaves paperwork and folders all over the place is obviously irrelevant!) he went to look in the garage for it, and came back in in an even worse mood! Now I will admit the garage is a terrible, shocking, unimaginably bad mess. But DH went on to tell me it was all my fault and that it "couldnt be let to get like that"! WHAT? At least half the stuff in there is his. Not sure when he thinks I'd get the time to tackle that whilst minding a 3yr old and 9 month old. Not sure what he thinks I do all day!
Not ever has he mentioned how hard I've worked on getting the house straight over the past couple of weeks, or all the things I do day after day to take care of the kids and keep the house running. I was so upset.

Anyway just needed to vent - sorry - trying to put it out of my mind now!
Bit tired though today too. was up with Ds in the night again ( only once though, and he did go back off quite quickly so not so bad) but am struggling to get motivated so far.
Have done morning routine, and school drop off.

Need to work on my to do list - didn't do it last night... but need to:
hoover stairs
Sort and put away dry washing
get nappy wash on

Also got some net stuff to sort out like ordering DS new rucksack for scout camp, ordering some cheap soft toy storage etc... (thanks for that link BTW DM - will look at it later)
Think I'll get on with that now and get tidying after.
May atempt to start on DS1's room after lunch - only room I've not tackled yet ! Will depend on mood of DC though!

Hope you all have good mornings!
BBL!

£46 for a high sleeper with desk and chair.

Hello All.

Sorry not rwad all thread notice Mad's boys fighting. Each time they argue over a toy take it away. Tell them it will stay away for 24 hours. Do this every time they argue. If they argue over same toy 3 x then it stays away for a week. A pain to enforce but you will get results.

DD1 has been sent home from school with tummy ache. We bought Pocahontas DVD at the weekend so I have just put it on for her. She was so upset she couldnt stay at school. DD2 just fell asleep and she's had preschool this morning so hopefully it will be a long nap.

galen at your dh. They really do think it all happens by itself! Dh told mil that 'our house is really easy to clean, we don't have to do anything really' She caught the look on my face and laughed!
