Um, how often do you lot clean?

We have a 3-bed terraced house, me, DH, DS (16 mo) and a cat.

Never been the sort to clean regularly - more a desperate attack a few hours before we're expecting company - but think things are getting a bit silly now. I'd just like it to be relatively clean all the time, so I think some sort of system is required.

Can anyone help me? Do you do a bit everyday or a regular weekly clean? How do you keep on top of it? How do you find the time? I need instructions

Think I was never really taught properly... that's my excuse anyway!
