Well top on my list is to carve the pumpkins today. The kids have been pestering me all morning.

I've got various house cleaning things to do, make biscuits/cakes/jelly ready for tomorrow.

The kids persuaded me to put some of the decorations up last night...so I don't have too much to do today. Have to go and clean the nursery at some point as well.

Hope you are all well this morning smile

Hello

We are having a lazy day today, although ds is pestering me to go and call for a friend who lives up the road...not sure I can face it though, I feel like sitting on the sofa all day. Not sure what's wrong with me but I have no motivation to do anything.

BiancaCastafiore Thu 30-Oct-08 09:48:47

Enjoy your halloween preparations Luda smileWe might cut out some paper pumpkin shapes to put up at the windows....

BiancaCastafiore Thu 30-Oct-08 09:52:09

Morning all
Well I'm trying to sort out my laptop and good old MN has been very helpful (my first port of call these days!)

Am trying to decide whether to pick up dh's dry cleaning (4 miles on the bus in one direction) or take ds for a haircut (6 miles in the other direction) Ideally we should do both hmm

cafebistro Thu 30-Oct-08 10:06:52

Morning All smile

Hve a big long list to do today. I really dont know where to start. Every room needs a good tidy/clean and my routines etc arent even touching it really sad.
Im going for a walk to the shop first to get bananas for muffins ( your receipe I think Madhouse) and then I can escape it for a while.
I think I'll do the 15mins in each room thing and then when I come to the end start again. Wish me luck !

scattyspider Thu 30-Oct-08 10:31:27

Good Luck Cafe!!

I have done minimal flying this week (even less than usual)blush.

To Do
pumpkins (snap Luda)
shops
laundry
maybe aquarium hmm.

Oh and I have dyed my hair! For the first time in 38 yrs I am no longer blonde. I am having trouble keeping up with my increasingly dark roots so decided to dye back to its natural colour. Trouble is I don't really know what my natural colour is blush. I opted for a light brown, which has turned out a bit red shock. Might have to rethink hmm.

tigger32 Thu 30-Oct-08 10:41:59

Morning all

Things are much better here today smile thank you all for the support yesterday.

My HV has been this morning and surprisingly the house was in goodish order, ds2 has passed his 2 year check with flying colours grin

scatty I bet your hair looks good!

I'm off to vist my friend today to offer support re m/c sad, having 4 nutty children jumping around her house should take her mind off it!

LavenderTea Thu 30-Oct-08 10:48:43

Morning all

Cafe your idea sounds like the best plan. I did that yesterday and managed to catch up on stuff to a certain respectable level.

Luda, Hello Spotted your post yesterday, but had no time to reply. LOL Yes I am newish and no not a name changer grin.
I think I introduced myself on Monday/ Tuesday/?? been flyint ( or trying) for a couple of weeks now, and just thought it was time I came out and introduced myself...

Scatty LOL and blush at my lack of bulb knowledge yesterday. You must think I am a bit pots asking, but don't worry I didn't put them under the bed.. (still in packet though. That's a job for today )

Done most morning stuff today.

On top of normal tidying and dusting around INeed to;

get swim stuff ready and take dd to swim lesson ( first check they aren't cancelled for half term, and shave underarms which I forgot last night)

Clear out Office, and file any important looking stuff.

Cancel standing order with bank that I forgot to do on Tuesday

and the worst Ironing

Oooh and plant a selection of spring bulbs --under my bed-- in flower bed

Happy day everyone. Sun is shining grin

Speak later
LT

LavenderTea Thu 30-Oct-08 10:49:34

Why doesn't my striking out ie; --under my bed-- not work ??
LT

scattyspider Thu 30-Oct-08 13:12:06

LOL Lavender (I can't get the hang of the striking out thing either). Happy swim.

Back from Aquarium. DS seems to have tummybug so have tucked him up on sofa.

TheMadHouse Thu 30-Oct-08 13:36:27

Afternoon all

We have been penny bowling again this morning and then to a local park (I was freezing), just got back in and DS2 is in bed and DS1 on the wii

I really need to mop the floor at some point today and also hoover upstairs.

I managed most of the ironing last night, so only have a small load to do toninight.

TheMadHouse Thu 30-Oct-08 13:37:40

Oh and I have just seen RUbys post, hope you get some solid information from the Derm today and can make an informed decision

cafebistro Thu 30-Oct-08 14:01:51

Afternoon all smile

Have made no progress whatsoever with my flying today. Went to the shop to escape the tip and ended up collecting the fallen leaves on the the way home with DS. We have just finished sticking them to paper in the shape of a pumpkin with cut out eyes, nose and mouth! Its now hanging from the kitchen wall! grin Have done not much else..thats the trouble you see, I dont do entertaining the DC's and flying at the same time. Its always one or the other.
I'll now tidy the kitchen a bit before we make the muffins, DS has offered to help with the tidying hmm.

scattyspider Thu 30-Oct-08 14:55:30

cafebistro I'm the same, would rather do stuff with dcs or go out than fly. I am doing even less this week than normal (and normally I'm at work). That picture sounds good (I might nick that idea hmm).

Done:
pumpkin
shops
reboot laundry

To do:
take dvd back
collect car (hopefully)
order present for dad
check out times for James Bond (lovely friend going to babysit so dh and I can go to pictures grin)

TheMadHouse Thu 30-Oct-08 15:00:46

Hi All

I can not fly and do things with the children. I have to schedule play time in.

We have just made some bread rolls (left them rising whilst we went out (glad we went this morning as it is pissing down) and also got some peanut crunch cookies cooking. Dead easy receipe and so good for the children.

4oz of light brown sugar
4oz of butter
1 egg
4oz of peanut butter
half teaspoon baking powder
5oz of self raising flour
rice crispys

cream sugar and butter - add egg
add peanut butter, flour and baking powder.

Take heaped teaspoon og dought, roll into a ball and then flaten on rice crispys (coating them all over).

Makes about 20

Cook for 20 at 180

I am waiting for them to finish cooking and cool a bit so we can take some to nanas (EMIL) boys want to see her not me grin

TheMadHouse Thu 30-Oct-08 15:01:31

Oh and the reason the toilet was overflowing - an apple in it angry

RubyRioja Thu 30-Oct-08 15:40:05

Happy day.

Derm was great. Did really thorough inspection, measurement, microscopic inspection and reassurance.

Explained that whilst it was sebaceous nevus, do need to remove unless causing problems. Would take two small ops due to size if we did (would be cosmetic). If nothign happens, leave well alone. If changes can remove. Worse possible case, does not cause the scary type of malignancies that spread, would just remove then.

Whilst he said pretty much same as GP, it was great to hear consistent view from both sources.

Was very worthwhile. Though ironically it cost £5 per minute grin. I worked that out later when I stopped smiling!

EHM Thu 30-Oct-08 16:17:09

ruby glad all went well.went back a few days of posting so I could understand what was going on. What a bloody worry. I am sure it was worth every penny.
ludagood luck with the carving & thank for the thread.
biancahope you enjoy your day as planned.
saga6 miles by bus. Get him to collect it himself.
Hello cafe, scatty, tigger * TMH*.
hello lavendertea nice to meet you.

Off to descale the kettle & change filters in kettle & water jug. Wow what a glamourise life i lead!

sagacious Thu 30-Oct-08 16:22:22

6 miles there 6 miles back (we live in the sticks)I would havesaid get it yourself but he works such stoopid hours its never open when he's finished work

In the end I remembered there's a hairdressers by the dry cleaners (the 4 mile x 2 option) so that was sorted

Missed the bus so had a 30 min wait in the piddling rain

but hey ho we have apple doughnuts from tesco's as well

ruby good news about the nevus

Off to put the heating on

brrrrr

BiancaCastafiore Thu 30-Oct-08 16:22:32

Ruby that's great news. You must feel relieved

{angry] on your behalf re apple in the loo TMH!

We have had a very lazy but lovely day
Dd made halloween paper shapes which we've put up at the windows Ds and I amde several apple crumbles from the glut of apples we have on our tree (soooooo many!!)
Then we had a blustery walk.
Niether of the friends the kids were supposed to be seeing this afternoon have been able to come round so ds is currently on the PS1 and dd is enjoying a long warm bath all to herself grin

I ought to clear the kitchen but can't really be bothered.....

RubyRioja Thu 30-Oct-08 16:24:09
