The "fresh cotton" Yankee Candle is lovely for that clean smell but they are considerably more than £1.50. Though you can buy it in tea lights etc and they do last long time - don't need to burn it for long as it's got such a strong scent.
Sometimes they smell strongest after you've blown them out don't they?
I like the expensive ones too. Am trying to work out how DH might like to buy me a Diptyque - how you spell? - one aspart of a 40th birthday present. He is, quite rightly, highly suspicious of expensive candles. FFS.
