Service It

DH is looking at me completely confused - he asked what I was doing and DS said "Cleaning the washing machine!" in a tone that implied DH was a moron

Tis this stuff you put through the machine, and clean the rubber bit & the drawer etc with it. It cleans and degunks and descales it all n stuff.

Expat is my washing idol, she says it is fab so I am using it

It's awesome, isn't it?

That and/or HG Service Engineer from Lakeland.

No more musty smelling washing machine.

I'm on the soaking the drawer stage and am grinning at it lots.

DH thinks I have finally lost it.

But then this is the man who didn't understand why hanging socks on the line in unmatching pairs (when the partner sock was THERE NEXT TO IT) was wrong

i throw all the socks into a net bag before washing them.

DH doesn't get that, either.

but then, he just doesn't understand.

sounds like just what I need.

Had to laugh at what it recommended on that link - use every 3 months or every 40 washes - I must do 40 washed in one month! Sometimes in a week and a half!

expatinscotland · 19/10/2008 13:31

i use every three months and it's fine.

i just do it at the end of every quarter.

I have used the HG stuff, very good. At the moment cos money is scarse, i am using bicarbonate of soda, very good too

does it actually clean the drawer as well?

Report
blossomsmine · 19/10/2008 21:13

I bung it in the drawer and also in the machine, but my drawer isn't that bad as i soaked it a while ago and now just bicarb it every now and then.

What do you do with the bi-carb of soda? I have tons of it (don't ask!!)I am totally fed up of my washing machine always smelling foul, it only started this since I've reduced the temperature down to 30 degrees.

well, according to Kim and Aggie, you put one cup of bicarb into the drum and run a wash cycle at 90 degrees (no clothes, of course).

then you put a cup of white vinegar and run another cycle on 90 degrees.

i don't ever wash at 30 degrees unless it's delicates or wools.

More or less as expat says. I also use it in my dishwasher, does that brilliantly!! Also, so cheap!!

Ooooh!! thanks ladies. Didn't think of the dishwasher as well. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow
