Morning. I'll just go and get some links.....

Jas Wed 08-Oct-08 07:33:15

Babysteps and mission.

DP has been moaning since 6.30 as he's been moved to a different site, and left all his tools at the other one yesterday.
I spent all last night doing childrens jigsaw puzzles. They are now all sorted out and in the right boxes, and the two with loads of pieces missing are in the bin. I'm keeping three which have only one piece missing for now. I know I'll find them if I throw the whole thing away now.

I need to do a list for today...

Toy cupboard
washing up
washing
paperwork
hoover

Plus all my normal routine.

Tortoise - I agree - let xp pay his half and come or not, your ds isn't daft, and sees who does all the work!
Good luck with the holiday.

scatty - Also agree with EV. Ditching the dvd is the most obvious change to make. If they go to sleep earlier, they may be up earlier too. Would that matter?

sagacious Wed 08-Oct-08 07:47:04

Morning jas
Sorry I've not been around much
RL has been getting in the way !

Have got a house in semi chaos!
The floor fitters are turning up this morning to rip up the hall/cloakroom/living room wooden floor (insurance paid out for the full whack shock

So I've got furniture piled up in the dining room/pool room and kids complaining about the mess !

Thanks for the grin on my headband thread.
I am truly mortified !

Back (hopefully) if I can find a place to park the laptop !

Shannaratiger Wed 08-Oct-08 07:50:07

Morning all

sactty I have problems with bedtimes as well. Supposed to be:
Bath in between tea and 'In the night garden' at 6:20.
DS bottle and both in bed at 7:20 after 'Max and Ruby'
Story and lights out at 7:45.

Tort definately let xp pay half, ds is as much his as yours so only fair.

Get up done
Make bed done
Get dressed to shoes
DC’s up *dd not ds*
Make DC’s beds
Put W/M on done
DS bottle
Check calendar
Breakfast * 3 doing
Wash up
Dry up & put away
Shine sink
DC’s dressed
Washing out or T/D
Clean toilet ( S & S)

Definately running late.

To do
Town - ds new shoes, dd school trousers and pyjamas.

Will come back later with more of a list. Have had a useless week flying, but I'm reading a very good book called 'positive thinking' which should help beat depression and make me a better person so worth a bit of a messier flat.

Hope everyone has a good day.
BBL

lucysmam Wed 08-Oct-08 08:28:31

Morning ladies grin

Better morning so far, fingers crossed it stays that way!!

Saga pool room! how posh grin. Good news on the insurance front
tortoise I agree let ex pay his half, you share the responsibility for ds don't you!
Shannar & scatty we have problem bed times too & it's normally me who ends up laid with her until 7pm!!
Jas what a pita about your dp's tools! Is it far between sites?

Not much planned for today:

morning stuff
strip big bed (remove huge tea stain)
td bedding n put back on
find recipe for tea (hoping for a chicken & lentil curry type dish)
carry on with Mad's zone clean list from the other day
anything else I manage to fit in which could be not a lot as this morning's slowly going the same as yesterday!
small shopping list for tomorrow of stuff we can do something with

Right, off to do brekky, bbl

lucysmam Wed 08-Oct-08 08:29:37

oh, and Mad almost forgot & I meant to ask you this yesterday . . .how do you make porridge? <dumb blonde emoticon here> Never made it but think my lo would appreciate it on a cold morning smile

scattyspice Wed 08-Oct-08 08:33:12

Hi all.

Thanks for the tips re bedtime.

Tried to ditch dvd and bring bedtime forward to 7.30 last night. DD had massive meltdown, wouldn't sit for story, wouldn't lie down in bed etc (ds was trying to be 'good' but made matters worse by shouting at dd to lie down etc). DD screamed so much she was sick. In the end dh stepped in and got dd to bed.

However I am not defeated. I ot them up before 7 this am so will be more tired tonight. I'm aiming for lights out at 8.

Back later with lists.

(welcome back saga, got your hands full?)

EustaciaVye Wed 08-Oct-08 09:38:30

Scatty - it will be a bit like going cold turkey for a few days but worth it. Dd shouldnt need a DVD to get her to bed really. Not judging btw as we all do whatever works but obviously this has stopped working iykwim.

DD2 being very stroppy and naughty at the moment. We've already 'labelled' her as THE NAUGHTY ONE and so I'm feeling a bit guilty. She's not even two yet blush

Have friend coming over in 20 mins so need to qhizz around with hoover and then have nice morning.

TheMadHouse Wed 08-Oct-08 10:03:11

OK - I have been up most of the night with DS2 this time (makes a change from DS1). He has been vomitting.

I have the washer on, another load of bedding to go in and then some towels - yuk

He is watching the wiggles and the swimming is off for today.

Mum is coming anyway to look after them whilst I see the plastic surgeon to schedule op. My cousin is very ill after her surdery. The blood supply has not taken and the reconstructed breast is infected and the fat is rotting. She had another operation yesterday and is very poorley sad

Anyway - I am off to clean up, make DS2's bed again (3rd time) and give out some cuddles.

EV You reading how to talk perchance?

Scatty persive on the bedtimes

Lucys Porridge oats, milk or water and mix. I do mine in the microwave now, as I have been making them for DS1 since he was 6 months. DS2 is a wheatabix with warm milk boy

Jas Well done on the jigsaws

Sag Glad the insurance paid out in the end

Shana Our two only get Max and ruby if they have been really good during the day

Jas Wed 08-Oct-08 10:28:21

sad TMH your poor cousin, that sounds terrible. I hope she makes a good recovery soon.
DD1 has had porridge every day (winter and summer) since she was about 6 months, toogrin and dd2 had weetabix and warm milk until she was about 6! Now she varies things a bit more, but ds is going down the porridge route, too.
I make it in the microwave, too. Trial and error to get the thickness they like, but now I know that 1/2 pint milk and 1/2 teacup oats is just right for dd1.

Just re read and see ds2 is sicksad I hope it is over quickly.

Lucy - I've no ideablush I've given up taking any notice of where he is working any more! I know he was in London very near to where I used to live last week, but is often out in the sticks and I haven't a clue.

scatty - Bedtime will get easier. It will be worth it once dd realises you won't back down.

Tax credit came in todaygrin so I'm off to pay some bills now.

grouchyoscar Wed 08-Oct-08 10:33:32

Howdydoo All

I have gone back to bed blush but I've

DONE

Up
Take down crockery
start breakfast
Emptyy DW
Put away
Sertve brekkie
Tidy away
empty WM
Sort for drying
Up for washing and teeth cleaning with Ed
Get dressed
Get Ed dressed

Still feeling blue and down. Fighting letting things get on top of me and doing my survival measures of 'good enough' and 'will you notice this in 5 years' but I want to scream at people atm hmm. I need a rest tbh

I'll have a sit down

RubyRioja Wed 08-Oct-08 10:36:03

Hi all

Not at my best today. AM getting my head around not judging dd1 as if she is the same person as me. I need to accept she is an individual. Becuase she looks like me, I somehow feel she should act like me. It's really daft, but I need to get used to the idea. I feel I am caring for a little cockoo.

Spiritual rather than house cleaning today for me I think!

Mad, your poor cousin. I bet it has given you the willies. I don't think it matters how low risks are statistically, when you know someone who has had complications, it makes it much more real.

fwiw, my sisters op had a lot of post surgery complications, and her recovery time was extended. She basically lost all skin/fat but when her recovery was complete, she was fine. Two years on, even her scarring is minimal, so I hope your cousin is on teh mend soon. Hope not inappropriate.

Take care all.

grouchyoscar Wed 08-Oct-08 10:42:41

Porridge - I do it on the stove. 2.5 measures of milk/water and keep stirring. I put a handful of sultanas and a sliced banana in too

grouchyoscar Wed 08-Oct-08 10:44:35

errh to one measure of porridge oats add 2.5 measures of milk/water that is

minorbirdOnElmstreet Wed 08-Oct-08 11:06:36

Morning everyone

I have been a bit caught up in the outside world of late! House is still clean (ish) and flying is going well, or at least the routines are! Haven't kept up with the missions this past week.

In pjays at mo, cos me & DD had a sicky bug. So we are having a lazy day. Going a brisk walk later to try and feel a bit fresher. And thinking about a nice blandish dinner!

See you soon. smile

tortoise Wed 08-Oct-08 12:03:10

Wooo Hooo my offer was accepted this morning. We WILL be going to Haven in half term! grin The kids are going to be sooo excited (and me!).

Now i need to find somewhere for the dog to go. hope that isn't really expensive!

DS2's cake is in the oven.

Kids are ALL at school. grin

EustaciaVye Wed 08-Oct-08 12:33:57

Mad - Your poor cousin. Hope she improves soon. And No, I'm not reading how to talk, I never got around to ordering it.

TheMadHouse Wed 08-Oct-08 12:52:41

Afternoon

DS2 is in bed, no more sick - yah. No more food either though. He is fine and jolly and happy. I have the washer on again grin

DS1 is at preschool with some coconut ice - DH can take the rest to work - he he he

Mum is here, so I am going to post some of the ebay things (once I have packaged them)

I am meeting DH at the hospital. Have heard from Aunty - Cousin is doing a lot better and feeling a lot better this morning, they ahve obviously got some antiB's to work and also removed all the dead stuff in the operation. She will be able to go home tomorrow on oral antiBs andgo back next week. Her BP has also come back down too. So I am really happy about that.

tortoise Wed 08-Oct-08 13:01:29

TMH Glad DS2 is on the mend and glad your cousin is improving.
DS2's cake is cooked and cooling. Looks nice. Will probably decorate it later or tomorrow. Whenever i have a spare hour or two! hmm

TheMadHouse Wed 08-Oct-08 13:04:08

Tort I am so pleased about the holiday - I know you have wanted one for ages.

EV I am reading it again, as my two are testing me at the moment

RubyRioja Wed 08-Oct-08 13:05:07

TheMadHouse Wed 08-Oct-08 13:12:42

Yes I am strange and Mad

RubyRioja Wed 08-Oct-08 13:14:46
