I watched Oprah many moons ago and there was one of these cleaning experts who recommended WD40 - apparently you should removed oil based products with oil.  It did work on my walls when my 3 yr old got arty but it did smell.

Baby wipes work with a bit of effort but I've found that a quick spray of furniture polish gets it off painted wooden doors in a flash! Haven't tried it on plastic but could be worth a try?

Jif (or Cif or whatever it's called now)? DS1 and friend managed to find our crayons and colour in the kitchen floor the other day. I got it off with jif.
