morning mad thanks for thread,

I'm feeling really low today

We had a fantastic weekend in London, then arrived home to find our beloved cat dead in his bed
Feel I may need to change my mumsnet name...

ds1 is deverstated and keeps crying

To make matters worse ds2 kept getting a high temp over weekend and by 6pm last night we couldn't seem to control it (39.9 after calpol and nurofen) ended up at out of hours, he has very bad infection in his ears and throat, now have antibiotics and had to wake him in the night to give calpol and nurofen (wasn't impressed when doctor said that!)
Anyway will try and sort myself out then write list of to do's

Thanks mad he was only 7, but he was blind and we think maybe had other problems. We rescued him, his 2 brothers and his sister, they were found in sack and out of the 4 only the sister is now alive they were wild when we got them, we had to wear moterbike gloves to handle them
Ahh just talking about him has made me smile, he was such a loving cat sorry going on

Morning everyone

Mad sorry to hear (read) your ds is still unwell, must be taking i's toll on the rest of you Cracking list for the day btw!

tigger about the cat. hope ds1 cheers up & ds2 feels well again soon.

Well, I have to kids today. & for once J came with brekky and lunch & a couple of small choccy bars (which I personally wouldn't call a proper snack for a 3yo but not up to me ). I may replace them with yoghurt & fruit & give the kids one each as a treat later if they're good.

So far I've done all usual morning stuff, wm has done 2 loads but it's icy outside so td will be on shortly.

Have also got braising steak defrosting for tonights tea.

Zone is perfect for this week as well, will help with my pre-xmas declutter hopefully.

TO DO TODAY
shop for caster sugar
cake to bake
td washing
strip beds
swap toys around
declutter dining table middle thingy that's full of stuff
hoover
declutter last living room drawer to make space for hairdryer & straighteners plus crafty type stuff for the kids

That's it for now, probably back later with more random bits n pieces.

Hope you all have a fab day, tigger hope it's not too hard xx

Morning all

Tigger about your cat, glad you had a good trip to London. Hope ds2 gets better soon.
TMH Hope you get ds1 sorted out soon.
Ruby You have given me a big push to start getting christmas organised. I've brought a few presents, usualy not started until december, started writing a christmas card list. Money is really tight this year so I'm trying to think of some DIY ideas that me and dd can do together. I think all the females are going to end up with bead bracelets as dd is getting them for her birthday I'm also going to try homemade christmas cards for close family. If any one has any tips or suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

Done
Morning routine
Put yesterdays clothes away.
Bag up some more old clothes for clothes bank. I still have to tackle dp's casual shirts that he hasn't worn for about 10 years btu he still thinks are ok, i.e. they haven't fallen apart.

To do
Thorough hoover, i.e. toy retrieval from under chairs and sofa.
Library, dc's books are getting very late back.

Hope everyone has a good day

Shannar my dad and sis are getting a hm xmas cake & the stuff to make mulled wine with a couple of nice glass 'mugs' and wrapping it all up in a box with pretty paper. Should only cost us £4 or £5 for the lot hopefully.

Why not get lo's to do xmas cards with potato prints or sponge print cut into xmas shapes & sprinkled with glitter?

I am also half way through xmas pressy list. No idea what to get BIL and his gf now we know she's pg. I hated xmas when I was pg, everyone avoided stuff they knew I would enjoy like smellies and vodka because my skin was very sensitive & obviously you can't give a pg woman vodka

I have the td on & stripped both beds ready for washing. Going to shop on way back from school with J and maybe the park after school if it warms up at all

Ruby I wouldnt even subject a boarding school to them both

I do love them dearly, but I bet jas will back me up on this two so close together has some really hard patches, where they just clash constantly and both want my attention and when I am so tired it can be challenging

DS1s chest is just what it is - no better this winter by the looks of it. But that is definatly not his fault and I would rather this than him not be hear which is what nearly happened He can be so loving most of the time

Playgroup was fun, we had a great time playing with the town and road and hospital. I can be a child too sometimes.

Lunch is done, just need to talk DS1 into his school clothes and then I will drop him off and crack on with my massive list.

Clothes are not drying outside, but I refuse to use the tumbler (50p a pop)

Mine still fight now. In fact the fighting is more of a problem now than it was when they werte small tbh.

Dp is on edge. I don't think his friend is going to recover

I'm trying to get the house in order now fil has gone home. I'm putting Christmas on hold for now. We aren't buying anything except bread and milk atm, as everything except the mortgage is having to be borrowed until dp gets work,...

Been gym for shoulders and been for a run. Back now, showered and having lunch with DD before some work this afternoon. Might be back later! Have a good day.

Under estimate of 3 units on the gas

Over estimate of 150 units on the electricity

Sent them the accurate readings for an accurate bill

Evening ladies

Well, MIL has been & gone & left me with the news that one of my fave cheapy shops in town has shut down after going into liquidation so will have to find another cheapy shop for xmas toys for the lo. Braising steak is cooking nicely for tea & ALL the toys are upstairs out of the way, the kids are sat very quietly watching CBeebies atm

I just have my jacket to wash as the lo got a mud stain on it kicking up a fuss about going in the buggy the other day & pretty much done for the day apart from a bit more decluttering once she's tucked up. Ruby I know the feeling of having a nice house under piles of shite useful junk

Ruby try Wilko's for a little unmbrella fold buggy for dd, think they're about £3 or £4 ish. Have been toying with getting one for my own lo but she walks so sloooooooooowly atm without another distraction I'm leaving it to her birthday.

Tigger I'm going to do some cards with the kids in the hols I think, keep them busy forever and get me out of sodding never ever ending chores

grouchy that's quite an over-estimation on your electricity!

Jas hope your dp finds some work soon & isn't too stressed out with his mate being ill as well

Scatty frugal Christmas will be had here as well!

My oh has gone to work to see if they can pay him at least some of the wages we should have had Friday . . . knew we shouldn't have gone out Saturday because now we're totally skint until they actually pay him for the last 2 weeks or so

Hello to anyone I've missed! Best check the kids are behaving themselves . . . . ttfn xx

Ruby - some nice pushchairs here

ASDA and Argos do a cheap dolls stoller. About £5 I think.
